Rodrigo is the Grammy Award-winning artist behind “Jealousy, Jealousy,” “Good 4 U,” “Drivers License,” and “Traitor.” The songwriter released her debut album, Sour, in 2021. Additionally, dressed in a lavender Versace gown and butterfly hair clips, Rodrigo attended the 2022 Met Gala.

Olivia Rodrigo says Charli XCX and MARINA’s music is good for red carpet prep

In one YouTube video with Vogue, Rodrigo shared a bit of her Met Gala preparation process. That includes getting her hair and makeup styled while blasting music.

“We like to listen to music while we get ready, and Clay and Lilly here have really great taste in music,” Rodrigo said while looking at her stylists. “And so I always ask them to play me their favorite songs. I get my makeup done, and I get a little music education. So, win, win.”

“We listen to a lot of Charli XCX before an event,” Rodrigo continued. “Great hype music. Listen to Marina before we go out. That’s the kind of stuff that you… listen to before you, like, go on a date or something, and you feel really confident. [It] works the same with the red carpet.”

Charli XCX is the artist behind Crash — the recently released album featuring “Good Ones,” “Baby,” and “New Shapes.” Known for songs, “Primadonna” and “Oh No,” MARINA released Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land in 2021.

After giving MARINA a shoutout, the “How to Be a Heartbreaker” singer took to social media, retweeting the video clip and captioning it “love Olivia.” Charli XCX has not yet commented on Rodrigo’s mention.
