Wolf Alice is an alternative rock band known for their electric live performances and songs like “Don’t Delete the Kisses.” The group even caught the attention of “Drivers License” artist Olivia Rodrigo. Here’s what we know about the mini shoutout from Rodrigo at the 2022 BRIT Awards.

Aside from her starring role in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Rodrigo is a singer and songwriter. She debuted Sour in 2021. Since then, the artist earned several Grammy nominations, millions of Spotify streams, and fans across the globe.

Rodrigo also shares her appreciation for specific artists. That, of course, includes Taylor Swift, who Rodrigo took inspiration from for songs like “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back,” and “Deja Vu.” During one interview at the BRIT Awards, Rodrigo also mentioned the alternative rock band, Wolf Alice.

She is not British herself. However, Rodrigo walked away with a 2022 BRIT Award of her own. During one interview, Rodrigo was asked who she was most looking forward to seeing and potentially meeting at the award ceremony.

“Oh my gosh, well, I’m actually a huge Wolf Alice fan. I think they’re incredible,” Rodrigo said before mentioning her love for Adele. Wolf Alice walked away with the BRIT Award for Group of the Year.

The band is known for songs like “Don’t Delete the Kisses,” “Delicious Things,” and “How Can I Make It Ok,” releasing Blue Weekend in 2021. It’s unclear, however, if these artists ever interacted at the award ceremony.

However, some fans hope for a potential mashup, especially with Adele. This award ceremony shoutout wouldn’t be the only connection between the band and the “Deja Vu” artist.

Rodrigo and Wolf Alice will appear at the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts. They are included in a lineup with legendary artists Diana Ross, Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, and others.

What are Olivia Rodrigo’s favorite songs?

She mentioned Billy Joel in “Deja Vu.” Rodrigo even created a Spotify playlist with her favorite tracks. In honor of her 18th birthday, Rodrigo listed some of her favorite songs in a YouTube video.

There were several songs by Swift, including “Betty.” Being raised on alt-rock, she mentioned “Somebody Told Me” by The Killers. Rodrigo added “You Better Run” by Pat Benatar, which she and her mother picked up from the thrift store.

“Next is ‘Merry Go ‘Round’ by Kacey Musgraves,” Rodrigo said. “I absolutely love Kacey Musgraves, and I think this song is brilliant. I’m just obsessed with Kacey Musgraves, I’m just obsessed with female songwriters, and this song is so so so good. I listen to it all the time.”

Wolf Alice has Ellie Rowsell as one of the main vocalists and guitarists. She performs with Joff Oddie, Theo Ellis, and Joel Amey, recording and releasing songs on most major streaming platforms.
