When is One Direction star Harry Styles’ birthday?

Styles was born on Feb. 1, 1994, in Redditch, England. He grew up with his older sister Gemma in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. Before Styles went on The X Factor — a move that changed his life forever — he worked as a baker at W. Mandeville Bakery in his hometown.

He auditioned for The X Factor in 2010. Styles easily charmed the judges, earning him a spot on the singing reality television show. Simon Cowell grouped Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik together as a boyband. They ended up getting third place on the show.

The teen boys stayed together as a group following The X Factor for five years, up until their hiatus in 2015. They put out five albums together: Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, Four, and Made in the A.M. Their last album was made without Malik, who left the band prior to its recording.

How Harry Styles has celebrated his birthday through the years

While Styles is a pretty private person, he usually thanks his followers for birthday wishes on Feb. 1. On his 22nd birthday, the star hilarious quoted lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song “22” from her 2012 album Red.

He wrote on his Twitter account: “I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22.” The tweet has been liked nearly one million times and has more than 600,000 retweets.

For his 20th birthday, in 2014, he wrote on Twitter: “Just sitting around being 20.”

Styles’ birthday falls between January 20 and February 18, so he has an Aquarius sun sign. The sign is within the air element, alongside Gemini and Libra.

“These revolutionary thinkers fervently support ‘power to the people,’ aspiring to change the world through radical social progress,” per Allure. “Every Aquarian is a rebel at heart: These air signs despise authority and anything that represents conventionality. Free-spirited and eccentric, they can often be identified by their offbeat fashion sensibilities, unusual hobbies, and nonconformist attitude.”

These traits can definitely be applied to Styles. He is known for his progressive values, displayed through his social media and words at his concerts. Styles continually uses his platform to stand up for feminism, Black Lives Matter, and LGBTQ rights.

Furthermore, many have commented on the singer’s clothing choices and his eccentric style. He is known to push gender norms through his fashion, wearing dresses and nail polish to express himself.

At the 2019 Met Gala, Styles wore a sheer, ruffled black top and high-waisted black pants, as well as nail polish and a single pearl earring.
