‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 2 Has a Release Date
Fans won’t have to wait long for Only Murders in the Building Season 2. Stars Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short announced the return of the Hulu series with a cheeky video clip.
‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 2 premieres June 28
Hulu renewed Only Murders in the Building for season 2 in September 2021. Now the series officially has a return date. Fans can expect to see Mabel Mora (Gomez), Charles Hayden-Savage (Martin), and Oliver Putnam (Short) in June 2022.
In a 25-second clip shared on Hulu’s official Twitter, Gomez, Martin, and Short announced the Only Murders in the Building Season 2 release date. Standing in the elevator reminiscent of their characters’ first meeting, the trio attempted the share the news. Just as they ran out of time and the elevator doors closed, the release date was revealed.
The ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 1 finale left lingering questions
So where did Only Murders in the Building leave Mabel, Charles, and Oliver at the end of season 1? They got answers on who killed Tim Kono (Julian Cihi). It turned out that Jan (Amy Ryan), the bassoonist and girlfriend of Charles, had been responsible for the death of Mabel’s friend.
Charles escaped death. Jan was taken away in handcuffs. The story, and the trio’s podcast, seemed to be wrapped up in a neat bow. But just as they finally got answers to the questions that had plagued them — and viewers — all season long more popped up.
Another murder happened in the building. In the final moments of the episode, Charles and Oliver discovered Mabel standing over Bunny’s (Jayne Houdyshell) dead body. Did the 20-something with the mysterious past do it? She insisted it wasn’t what it looked like. Only moments later, Mabel, Charles, and Oliver were escorted from the building in handcuffs by police.
Season 2 will center around the latest murder in the building
With a new murder to solve, Only Murders in the Building Season 2 will focus on what happened to Bunny. But how will Charles, Mabel, and Oliver investigate not to mention record their podcast now that they’re the subjects? That’s a question for when new episodes air.
Meanwhile, there are plenty of other questions that need answering in season 2. Who killed Bunny? Why did they frame Mabel? Who was the one watching Jan? And how do Mabel, Oliver, and Charles get themselves out of jail? And what about the Arconia? Who warned Oliver and Charles to leave the building?
Hopefully, all of these questions will be answered in season 2. In the meantime, fans can stream season 1 on Hulu until Only Murders in the Building Season 2’s release date comes around.
