Is the Original ‘Ducktales’ on Disney Plus? Here Are a Few Disney Cartoons Available on the Streaming Platform
Who doesn’t love Donald Duck and his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie? Thankfully, these characters appear in multiple shows on Disney’s recently-released streaming platform. Is the original DuckTales series available on Disney Plus? Here’s what we know about the cartoons on this subscription service.
Disney Plus launched on Nov. 12, 2019
Disney proves once again that their magic is limitless. The company released its highly anticipated streaming platform earlier on Nov. 12, 2019. There, fans can browse Disney’s vast library, containing movies and television shows produced by Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, 21st Century Fox, and even National Geographic.
The content on Disney Plus includes blockbuster movies like Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame and James Cameron’s Avatar. Of course, there’s plenty of Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney original cartoons available on Disney Plus. That includes the original animated series, Duck Tales, in addition to the spin-off series released in 2017. Some shared their excitement for this series on social media.
“Them: You’re too old to be watching a children’s show about cartoon ducks! Me: It’s a deep examination of unchecked capitalism’s destructive impact on family bonds and the importance of reconciling our past, present and future relationships,” said one Twitter user.
“A large part of what makes DuckTales so enjoyable is [Frank Angones’] transparency with the audience and the crew’s dedication to trying to make inclusive media with well-established characters,” wrote another Twitter user.
‘DuckTales’ is available on Disney’s recently-released streaming platform
The original DuckTales, released in 1987, is available for streaming on Disney Plus. That includes three seasons of Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, and the rest of the gang. Additionally, Disney Channel’s spin-off series of the same title is available on Disney Plus. This series originally premiered in 2017 and has two seasons filled with shenanigans starring Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The episodes may be out of order on the streaming platform. However, screenwriter Frank Angones posted a list of the episodes in order on his Twitter.
There are a few new faces added to this cartoon cast. That includes Webby, Mrs. Beakley’s independent and smart granddaughter. For more of these crazy ducks, fans can watch the 1990 release, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp. However, the Donald Duck content doesn’t stop there. Disney added a few different cartoons featuring the ducks on this streaming platform.
There are other original Disney cartoons available on Disney Plus
Huey, Dewey, and Louie aren’t the only ducks appearing on this streaming platform. The original animated film, The Three Caballeros, which premiered in 1944 is available on Disney Plus. The movie stars birds José and Panchito, who accompany Donald Duck on a series of adventures. The 2017 spin-off series, The Legend of the Three Caballeros is now streamable, thanks to Disney’s subscription service.
Additionally, other cartoons starting Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and their friends are available on Disney Plus. Donald, Goofy, and Mickey star in The Three Musketeers. Just in time for the holidays, subscribers can watch Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas and Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas. There’s even the 1990s television series Quack Pack available for streaming on Disney Plus.
