‘OutDaughtered’: Danielle Busby Explained Why Her Extremely Intelligent Daughter, Riley, Is Having a Hard Time
There are plenty of fantastic reality TV families fans adore watching, but few are as wholesome as the Busbys on OutDaughtered. Adam and Danielle Busby became famous for having the first set of all-female quintuplets in the U.S. And we’ve gotten to know the Busby quints’ personalities over the years.
Now, the whole family is stuck indoors in their home due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Adam and Danielle are giving their followers regular updates on how their kids are handling social distancing. And while some of their children seem to be doing just fine, Riley, the notoriously smart quintuplet, is having the most difficult time with the disruption in routine.
Danielle and Adam Busby are sharing what life is like for them while social distancing
Dealing with social distancing isn’t easy for anyone, and reality stars are sharing their thoughts and feelings about it all on social media. As for Adam and Danielle, they’re trying to keep their kids occupied as much as possible. And Danielle is finding it helpful to maintain a relaxed schedule and routine.
“One thing I am loving about these quarantine days is having our own (new) routine and more lax schedule,” she wrote on Instagram. “Today, we had breakfast and went straight to swimming! School work is still important but we will do it after lunch today!” She also suggested to other busy parents that they should “enjoy” the downtime, as they may not get much of it otherwise.
Adam also posted his thoughts on the situation. “Things look a little different right now. We are in a little less control over how the morning looks like in this spot, but have confidence in knowing that Jesus is still in control,” he posted to Instagram. “Even though times are scary and we may not have any answers to why all of this is happening or what the immediate future looks like. HE still holds our future.”
Riley Busby is notoriously the smartest of the quintuplets
OutDaughtered fans have watched the Busby kids grow up — and we’ve also seen their journey through schooling. Adam and Danielle expressed concerns that the quints could lag behind because they were born prematurely. But, after getting the quints tested, it seems they’re right where they should be. And one quintuplet, Riley, stood out from the rest, as her scores were off the charts.
Because Riley is known as the “smartest” of the quints, she was moved up to kindergarten while her sisters stayed in pre-K. Adam and Danielle were nervous about separating Riley from her sisters, but it proved to be the best choice.
“First day of kindergarten in the books and she CRUSHED it! So incredibly proud of this little kid,” Adam noted on Instagram. “When she wants something, there is nothing going to stand in her way and she is right at home forging her own path.”
Danielle said Riley is having a tough time with the quarantine
Not only is Riley incredibly smart, but she’s also troublesome. Adam and Danielle expressed in the past that they think Riley’s naughty behavior might be from boredom and a lack of mental stimulation at home. And it seems social distancing may also be getting to the little girl.
“This little nugget, Riley Paige, I think is having the hardest time during this #StayHome life we are living currently,” Danielle captioned her post of her and Riley on March 30. “She had been so used to her own days at school in her own classroom and now she is back to ‘weekend reality’ 7 days a week. *Hang in there my love, we all on the same bus.”
Danielle’s followers have a lot of sympathy for her daughter, too.
“Yeah kids are more stressed when the routine is broken. Their safety net,” a follower commented.
We’re hopeful Riley (and the rest of the Busbys) will be able to return to their normal lives sooner rather than later!
