‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 Could Feature More ‘Pogue-on-Pogue’ Kissing
Prepare yourselves for more potential Pogues kissing Pogues Outer Banks fans. Season 3 isn’t in the can yet, but we feel there will be even more “pogue-on-pogue macking” in new episodes of the Netflix series. Here’s who we think might share a kiss in Outer Banks Season 3.
Previous Pogue-on-Pogue kisses
In Outer Banks’ debut season, fans learned of the Pogue code. One of their rules regards kissing other Pogues: “No Pogue-on-Pogue macking.”
John B. (Chase Stokes) breaks that rule after escaping law enforcement in the first season. He wants to go back to lighthouse to look for more clues about Redfield and the Royal Merchant. Kiara (Madison Bailey) urges him not to, embracing him in a hug. Then, John B. leans in for a kiss.
“What was that?” she asks in the scene. “Oh God, I’m an idiot,” John B. replies.
But John B. isn’t the only Pogue Kiara kissed in Outer Banks Season 1. She and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) kiss in the finale after he confesses having feelings for her.
Technically, every kiss John B. and Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) share in Outer Banks could be considered Pogue-on-Pogue macking. That is, after she officially leaves the Kook life for Pogue life.
‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 potential hookups
Despite Kiara and Pope’s budding relationship, J.J.’s (Rudy Pankow) might have feelings for Kiara, as revealed in season 2 of Outer Banks. While Kiara, Pope, and J.J. scramble to find evidence that proves John B.’s innocence, J.J. asks how their relationship is going. But it’s clear he’s slightly jealous of what the two share.
Considering J.J.’s potential feelings for Kiara (not to mention his status as the only Pogue she hasn’t kissed), the idea of them kissing in season 3 isn’t entirely off the table. But some fans are convinced Kiara might kiss another newer Pogue.
“I think Cleo and Kie are going to be an item and we find out after J.J. and her have some alone time on the island,” says one fan on Reddit. They think J.J. will kiss Kiara only to find out she has feelings for Cleo [Carlacia Grant].
The fan added: “Even though it’ll be a bit sad for J.J. at first, I think it’ll turn into a super sweet moment for the two. I think they’re better friends than we realize because everyone just wants them to get together, so J.J. will have something positive in his life.”
This fan thinks the show should write about Kiara having a girlfriend since Bailey identifies as pansexual in real life. “Maybe her and Cleo don’t get together, but I still think Kie is going to come out leaning towards women,” the fan elaborated. If Outer Banks Season 3 does introduce this idea, this fan thinks J.J. will be the first to know of Kiara’s feelings for Cleo.
‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 is ‘all going to make sense’
Grant spoke to Hollywood Life about the forthcoming season of Outer Banks. While she didn’t get specific, the actor did say new episodes will “make sense” of previous plot points.
“There’s going to be a lot of things that maybe haven’t been explained that are going to be explained [in season 3],” said Grant, who added how these new episodes will address “everything teased” in the first two seasons. Could that mean clarity on Pope and Kiara’s relationship, or maybe her exploration of a new love interest?
Whatever it means, Grant says the cast group chat “went crazy” after they read the scripts for the first two episodes of the new season. “It’s unexpected for real!” said the Outer Banks star. “The twists and turns that are going to happen, it’s so unexpected.”
