‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 Release Schedule: When Parts 1 and 2 Premiere
The Pogues are back! Well, almost. Outer Banks Season 4 is headed for Netflix soon. Unlike previous seasons of the summertime drama, however, the latest installment is premiering in two parts. Ahead, details on the release schedule for Outer Banks Season 4.
‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 release schedule: Part 1 premieres Oct. 10
See John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) together again—and unsurprisingly hunting treasure—when Part 1 of Outer Banks Season 4 premieres on Oct. 10, 2024. The season’s first five episodes begin streaming on Netflix at 3 a.m. EST.
After the 18-month flash-forward in the season 3 finale where Genrette made his initial offer to the Pogues, season 4 takes viewers “back in time to the lead-up to that moment,” according to Netflix’s Tudum.
‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 release schedule: Part 2 premieres Nov. 7
So, what about Part 2? The second half of Outer Banks Season 4 premieres on Nov. 7, 2024. Like Part 1, all five episodes of Part II begin streaming on Netflix at 3 a.m. EST.
Before they go looking for gold, the Pogues make an effort to have a “normal” life as part of “Poguelandia 2.0.” Part of it includes running a business. Together they operate a bait, tackle, and charter tour shop.
Only when they face a next-to-impossible deadline—$13,000 due in a week—do they take up the mysterious Wes Genrette (David Jensen) on his proposal to be paid a hefty fee to find Blackbeard’s treasure.
New additions to the ‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 cast
Some new faces are joining John B, Sarah, JJ, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo in the new season of Outer Banks. There’s Chandler Groff, played by Billions alum J. Anthony Crane, who is welcoming to the Pogues while grieving his wife.
Then there’s Dalia, portrayed by The Walking Dead’s Pollyanna McIntosh, who is an adversary of the Pogues’ on their hunt to find Blackbeard’s treasure. The group also has to watch out for Lightner (Rigo Sanchez), a “dangerous and calculating outdoorsman.”
Meanwhile, realtor Hollis Robinson (Brianna Brown) approaches Rafe (Drew Starkey) about a business deal as a relationship develops between Topper (Austin North) and Ruthie (Mia Challis)
‘Outer Banks’ showrunners know what the end of the series will look like
Similar to Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, the people behind Outer Banks, showrunners Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, know where they see the Pogues’ story ending.
“I don’t know if I could put a real number on it right now—how long it takes to get to that ending might expand,” Josh told Entertainment Weekly in February 2023. “But we now know the shape of the end of the story. We’re going to take it as long as we can, for sure.”
Shannon Burke added that they want to keep the show “grounded to some extent…because sometimes when it gets too big, it’s not as fun anymore.”
“We’ve always known from the beginning what the last scene would be if we would be lucky enough to get it that far,” Josh told Tudum after the season 3 finale.
