‘Outer Banks’ Star Madison Bailey Met Her Partner On TikTok
Outer Banks star Madison Bailey, who plays Kiara, revealed on TikTok that she’s dating UNC-Charlotte basketball player Mariah Linney, 21. Consequently, this is the same app that they connected through. In late May, Bailey came out as pansexual on her TikTok.
Bailey announced her relationship on TikTok and Instagram shortly after. Linney is in her senior year at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She was named the USA Today High School Sports State Player of the Year as a senior at Goose Creek High School.
How did Madison Bailey meet her partner?
There had been signs of flirtation between the two for months on TikTok. Even though it wasn’t made official until they had been dating for some time, presumably they had been at the very least interested for a while.
TikTok was where it all started for the couple. The couple shared a duet on TikTok and from there have been seemingly inseparable. Bailey told ET Online:
“I had zero hesitation to post on social media about it because I was like, ‘No matter what happens, you will be in my life forever.’ I care about her so much. She’s very gentle-hearted, kind, loving, and you see that in the way she loves basketball [and] her family. You see her loyalty and dedication in the things that she cares about. I think I am in love.”
How long they have been dating?
The couple met about a month before they went public with their relationship. They celebrated their one-year anniversary in June of 2021. Bailey recently posted on Instagram a photo with the caption “365 with you”. Around the time that they started dating was when Bailey came out about her sexuality.
Not only did she identify as pansexual but she also explained what that meant in a TikTok video. Being open and honest about your sexuality is difficult, even when you don’t share it with the world. Bailey’s courageous declaration will hopefully encourage others who feel similar to share their experiences with others.
Madison Bailey has built an impressive career
Although her career on Netflix’s Outer Banks has certainly gotten her a lot of attention, she has also appeared in some other notable shows. She appeared in the Shudder reboot of Creepshow where she plays a sadistic teen who, along with two others, tortures a man stuffed into a suitcase because he can spit out gold coins when he is in pain.
As it turns out, the man is actually an evil genie who turns the tables on them when he has decided that he’s had enough. She has also been in an episode of American Horror Stories, a spinoff of American Horror Story, where a drive-in movie theater plays a supposedly unwatchable film. Those that watch it turn into flesh-eating ghouls. Bailey plays the episode’s protagonist and goes out to see the forbidden film with her boyfriend for their six-month anniversary.
Bailey plays Kiara on Outer Banks, who comes from a wealthy family but is a socialist and activist. She is often the voice of reason on the show. She is warm-hearted and a fighter at the same time. It almost seemed like the writers had written the role especially for Bailey, but she wasn’t a shoo-in. She had to fight for the role.
Linney and Bailey may have found their forever homes in each other. The relationship after a year still seems rock solid and the two are looking forward to a long future together. Who knows, in a few years maybe they will be tying the knot. The cute couple has certainly made it clear that they are going to be together for a while.
