‘Outlander’: Fans Weigh in on Young Ian’s New Look
As most fans of Outlander already know, Young Ian (John Bell) has returned to Fraser’s Ridge and to his family. He’s a totally different man now, but at the same time, he’s still the Ian we’ve all grown to love. Fans really seem to love his new look this season and they recently weighed in on the situation. Young Ian returns to Fraser’s Ridge
To the surprise of no one, Young Ian has returned home to Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe). Fans will recall that in season 4, Roger (Richard Rankin) was mistaken for Brianna’s (Sophie Skelton) rapist. Jamie and Ian sell him to the Mohawk tribe, leading to their need to go and rescue him once they realize what’s happened. Someone must stay in Roger’s place, and Ian volunteers to stay behind.
Roger convinces Young Ian to keep on living
Things have changed and Young Ian has returned home, but he’s not the same person he used to be. He agrees to survey land gifted to Roger and ends up trying to kill himself with Claire’s water hemlock. Roger stops him just in time, and they talk about someone Ian lost.
Ian reveals to Roger that he’s lost someone. She isn’t dead, but she’s lost to him forever and he can’t handle it. Roger somehow convinces him to keep on living. It’s still unclear exactly what happened to Ian or how he was able to return. Hopefully we’ll get more answers on the subject soon.
Fans weigh in on Young Ian’s new look
Ian is looking very different nowadays. His hair is shaved on the sides and he’s grown the middle part out long and he wears it in braids. He also sports some tattoos dotted along his cheeks, which makes him really stand out compared to others.
The official social media accounts for the series recently posted an image of Young Ian getting set up between scenes. “This is an official appreciation post for Young Ian’s new look. #Outlander #STARZ,” the post is captioned.
Fans are seriously on board for Ian’s look. It’s “everything” according to one Instagram user. “The new look is everything,” a fan wrote.
Numerous fans commented to say how much they enjoy having Ian back on the Ridge. “Love having Young Ian back, he’s one of my favorite characters, and John Bell is doing a great job,” a fan said.
Viewers seem to appreciate all the aspects of Ian’s new look, including his costume and his new hairstyle. “Costume department did an outstanding job. And a big thumbs up to John Bell for shaving his head. That’s dedication,” a fan wrote.
The love is really strong for Ian’s new look. “I love his new look! 😍,” a fan commented.
Many others agree and seem to enjoy all things Young Ian in season 5. “I definitely appreciate it,” said another fan.
