‘Outlander’ Stars Sam Heughan And Caitriona Balfe’s Steamiest Moments
There is a lot more to Starz’ hit drama, Outlander, than the steamy sex scenes between leads Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. Outside of their amazing romance, the series combines action and historical fiction in its story of a time-traveling nurse who falls head over heels with an 18th-century Scottish warrior.
But everyone who has watched Outlander knows that the intimate moments between Claire (Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan) are what separates the show from the pack. Not only do the toe-curling scenes advance the storyline in some way, but they are often told from the benefit of the female perspective.
With filming for Season 5 of Outlander finally underway, here is a look at the show’s steamiest scenes to date.
“Not In Scotland Anymore”
In what has been dubbed the honey pot scene, this moment came after Jamie was sexually abused by the show’s first big villain, Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Fresh off the terrible experience, Jamie had difficulty being intimate with anyone. But after Claire shows him the result of her French wax session, the pair fall into each other’s arms.
During their session, Jamie suddenly stops as memories of his abuse come flooding in. According to Vulture, the two end up going to sleep in each other’s arms, illustrating how much the incident affected Jamie’s psyche.
Jamie and Claire’s wedding night
There is just something about your first time that you never forget, and Jamie was no exception. Shortly after tying the knot, Jamie and Claire found themselves alone for the first time since the ceremony and were clearly nervous. Instead of diving right under the sheets, they settled on eating and drinking so that they could get to know each other better.
After some time, and a brief interruption from Rupert and Angus, Claire makes a move. As they unlace all of their garments, Jamie finally takes charge and physically throws Claire in front of him. The moment doesn’t last long, but it was definitely a start.
There’s nothing like a reunion
Jamie and Claire’s reunion in Season 3 was one of the most anticipated events in the history of the show. The couple had spent some 20 years apart when Claire finally traveled back in time to reunite.
Although their first sex scene together was a little awkward, their second moment was like old time’s sake.
“Blood of my Blood”
Many fans complained about the lack of sex scenes in Season 4 of Outlander, but nobody was complaining when Jamie and Claire enjoyed one of their steamiest scenes together in the New World.
According to Glamour, the scene was one of the more intimate moments between the two all season long, and it also left fans with a feeling of empowerment, which Balfe fully appreciated.
“With all the sex scenes, or anything like that, we always try to approach them from a place of empowerment—not only the characters, but of the actors and the audience.”
Wedding night x 2
Jamie and Claire’s first time hooking up on Outlander was memorable, but their second romp is probably the show’s steamiest scene to date. Their first intimate experience was filled with some awkward moments, but Jamie proved to be a quick study under the sheets.
The second hookup started with some sensual stripping for both characters, who took their time sizing each other up. Jamie then takes charge and lifts Claire onto the bed. It doesn’t take long for Claire to climax, which surprises Jamie, who thinks he may have hurt her. A slightly confused Jamie then asks, “Does it happen every time?” to which Claire responds, “Only if the man is a very good lover.”
The scene ends with Claire biting Jamie’s sculpted chest before going down south.
Production for Season 5 of Outlander is now underway. The season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s fifth book, The Fiery Cross. Starz has not announced when the new season will premiere, though it may come as early as next fall. Finger’s crossed.
