What is ‘Paradise’ about?
Paradise is anything but sandy beaches and palm trees. Instead of tropical breezes and frozen drinks with umbrellas, the series is set in Washington, D.C. with Sterling K. Brown’s Agent Xavier Collins, discovering President Cal Bradford, played by James Marsden, has been murdered.
The catch? Xavier’s the last person to see him alive. Thus begins an action-packed journey for the Secret Service agent and father as he attempts to unravel what happened to the president.
Paradise, which reunites Brown and This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman, is a TV show for fans of political thrillers and dramas such as The Diplomat, The Night Agent, Black Doves, and The Recruit.
The cast also includes Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV. Fans of Veronica Mars might recognize the last actor’s name in the aforementioned list as the son of Percy Daggs III, who played Wallace in the popular series.
When does ‘Paradise’ premiere?
Although Paradise’s first three episodes were scheduled to premiere on Jan. 28, 2025, the “Wildcat is Down” pilot dropped early on Jan. 26, 2025, hitting Disney+ and Hulu at 6 p.m. PT. The second and third episodes, “Sinatra” and “The Architect of Social Well-Being” respectively, stuck to the original schedule, becoming available on Jan. 28.

Pilot logline: “It’s just another day in Paradise until Agent Xavier Collins discovers one of the world’s most powerful individuals has been viciously murdered. Xavier analyzes the crime scene while recalling his complex relationship with the victim.”
