Paris Hilton Admits to Duping Paparazzi Using a Blonde Wig — ‘I’ve Done That Like 50 Times’
Paris Hilton is one of the world’s biggest superstars, a former model and reality star who has built a massive fan base. An entrepreneur who has launched everything from footwear lines to specialty fragrances, Hilton has also become well known as a celebrity DJ and host.
Due to her status as a hot topic, Hilton has been a regular paparazzi target since she first rose to fame, close to two decades ago. While she has, for the most part, accepted this as par for the course, the star has duped the photographers on a number of occasions in a bid for more privacy, as she exclusively revealed in a recent “Hot Ones” episode.
When was Paris Hilton born?
Hilton was born in 1981, one of the heiresses to the Hilton Hotel chain fortune. As a young girl, Hilton became a model, perfecting not only her catwalk but her ability to manipulate the camera, drawing every eye to her.
In the early 2000s, Hilton became a celebrity hot topic after stepping out to various nightclubs and LA events. She seemed to be everywhere at once, a source of public fascination due to her fabulous wealth, her signature “baby voice” and her iconic catchphrase “that’s hot.”
While Hilton has received criticism for starting the “famous for being famous” trend, there’s no doubt that she’s a hustler. Over the years, Hilton has curated dozens of products and business ventures, including over 50 boutiques and multiple designer fragrances.
Paris Hilton was a huge paparazzi target
Through all of her ventures and endorsement deals, Hilton has remained a worldwide phenomenon, a woman who has been hotly pursued by photographers and tabloid reporters. In the early days of her fame, paparazzi were much bolder and had no problem stalking and harassing celebrities whom they considered to be “high-value” targets, people like Hilton who always made for great photographs.
Hilton understood the drawbacks of fame, and for the most part, she handled being pursued with grace. However, she sometimes just wanted privacy, and in a recent interview with Sean Evans of “Hot Ones,” she talked about how she has managed to evade the paps in a super-clever way.
What did Paris Hilton say to Sean Evans about tricking the paparazzi?
In her March 2021 appearance on “Hot Ones,” Paris Hilton admitted that over the years, she has gone incognito more than once when she wants to truly blend in with the crowd and enjoy some everyday activities. Hilton said that her “proudest moments” tricking the paparazzi include when she would have friends over to her house and would dress up one of her friends as Hilton — including a blonde wig, large sunglasses, and a Juicy Couture tracksuit.
“I would basically have them run out of my house, trying to hide…and all the paparazzi would follow them. I’ve done that, like, 50 times,” Hilton said. “It works!”
She also admitted that there’s some truth to the rumor that she has utilized prosthetics, including a fake nose and dark wigs, in order to attend Disneyland, restaurants, and other public events, to remain undisturbed by photographers.
Finally, Hilton remarked on the infamous “paparazzi-duping scarf” an accessory that features reflective technology that renders the wearer invisible to flashing light bulbs. “I haven’t really worn it,” Hilton said, but stated that she plans to add it into her wardrobe rotation eventually.
