Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s return to reality TV has been set into motion. Yesterday, the socialites were spotted filming scenes for The Simple Life reboot in Duarte, California. Although we don’t know exactly what this new project will entail, these behind-the-scenes photos give us a better idea.

Since May, when Hilton and Richie announced the reboot, fans have eagerly awaited more info about the cult-classic reality show from the 2000s. The Simple Life, which aired from 2003-07, featured the pair traveling across America and trying odd jobs on for size. The five-season series coined catchphrases like “That’s hot” and familiarized a generation with low-rise pants and Ugg boots.
In July, Hilton shared an Instagram video about filming with Richie, her friend-turned-foe-turned-friend. The 43-year-old explained, “As some of you may know, we are doing a reunion special to celebrate 20 years of our show, The Simple Life. It’s been so much fun, and we’re planning something very, very special. I thought the best place to find the people I would want to be a part of this is here.”
Hilton continued, “That show was so special. The best memories ever. It’s such a huge part of our life. And we love our fans so much, so we wanted you guys to be a part of this.” Since her video, the DJ and singer has filmed with Richie at a Sonic in Duarte, California. The drive-in fast-food chain hosted the duo for a full day of sodas, burgers, and hot dogs.

Hilton and Richie are back to their old antics. The former helped Richie into Sonic’s iconic hot dog costume, which engulfed the 5-foot-1 fashion designer as they both laughed hysterically. The pair held hands as they strolled around the parking lot and greeted surprised diners.
Hilton and Richie took photos with fans and warmly greeted Sonic employees, who helped them adjust to the demanding job. The last time the socialites visited the fast food chain was in 2003 when they filmed The Simple Life episode, “Sonic Burger Shenanigans.” In this episode, Hilton and Richie are “fresh from their failure at the dairy farm,” reports IMDb. “Paris and Nicole are hired to work at a fast food restaurant and are soon wreaking havoc.”
This time around, Hilton and Richie seem to cause less chaos and more love. Everyone involved in filming looked delighted to host the pair. Richie shared a photo of her and Hilton at Sonic. She captioned the Instagram story, “I am stunning,” in reference to her hot dog costume. We look forward to the iconic duo’s return to the small screen.
