‘Paris in Love’ Season 1 Episode 11 recap: Paris Hilton goes to Washington D.C. to help prevent children from having her same boarding school experience
In the newest episode of Paris in Love, which began streaming on Jan. 20, according to Peacock, Paris heads to Washington, D.C., with her now-husband, Carter Reum, and mother, Kathy Hilton.
On a whirlwind three-day trip that includes TV interviews, events, meetings with U.S. representatives on Capitol Hill, and a speech, Paris is there with the goal of getting the Accountability for Congregate Care Act passed so it becomes federal law.
It’s all part of her using her voice and platform following the release of her This Is Paris documentary where she spoke about her abusive Utah boarding school experience.
The biggest event on the schedule? Paris speaking on Capitol Hill. She’s nervous but she gets through her speech with her mom and Carter there for support.
Kathy Hilton doesn’t show up to a screening of ‘This Is Paris’
In a previous episode of Paris in Love, Paris and her mom agreed to watch This Is Paris together. But when the time came The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was nowhere to be found.
She skipped an event where Paris screened her documentary for a small crowd and spoke on a panel. The Simple Life alum had Carter by her side but wondered why her mom hadn’t shown up like she said she would.
Meanwhile, Kathy explains that hearing Paris talk about her boarding school experience hurt her “so much.”
“I was really struggling,” she said, noting that it was especially difficult without having her husband, Richard Hilton, there.
Later, as Paris continues with her hectic schedule, Kathy explains to her friend why she skipped the panel discussion and movie screening. She says she was “so wiped out” after listening to Paris’ speech that she “cried all day.”
“I feel guilt and I can’t help but think about those things that she’s been carrying with her all these years,” she said. “And that’s what’s heartbreaking.”
After Paris confronts her mom they, once again, agree to watch This Is Paris together.
Hilton finally watches ‘This Is Paris’ with her mom
Back in California, Paris goes to her mom’s house to watch the documentary. Kathy says she’s “ready to watch” it, saying she’s “had enough time to digest” it.
Paris holds her mom’s hand while the documentary plays and they both occasionally tear up. After it’s over both Paris and her mom feel like they have a better understanding of one another.
“I’m just, wow. The world that she lived in it’s very sad,” Kathy said. And while Paris admits it’s “hard” to watch the documentary with her mom she needed to do it.
A new episode of Paris in Love drops every Thursday on Peacock.
