In 1999, Passions debuted on the NBC Network. The paranormal soap opera follows the lives of four families in the town of Harmony. One of the central characters in the show was Sheridan Crane (McKenzie Westmore). Westmore rose to fame in the role that she played for nine years. So what has the actor been up to since the series’ cancellation?

‘Passions’ star McKenzie Westmore trades acting for makeup

After Passions‘ cancellation in 2008, Westmore continued acting with one brief but memorable role on The Bay, an internet soap opera. In 2011, she became the host of the Syfy reality series Face Off, a makeup artist competition. After 13 seasons, Face Off was cancelled in 2018, and Westmore concentrated on a career as an entrepreneur.

Westmore created her line of makeup called Westmore Beauty, showcased on the QVC Network. In a March 2021 interview with Digital Journal, Westmore talked about the importance of her cosmetics company. “Westmore Beauty is my second child. Blood, sweat, and tears go into every product that I bring to it. I believe in everything I put out wholeheartedly,” she explained.

McKenzie Westmore comes from a famous family

It’s no surprise that Westmore has a love for cosmetics. Her parents Marion Christine Bergeson and Michael Westmore, are award-winning Hollywood makeup artists. McKenzie made her acting debut on one of her dad’s films. She played Robert DeNiro’s daughter in the 1980 classic Raging Bull.

McKenzie’s professional life helped her find love. In May 2002, she married musician Seven Volpone, whom she met on the set of Passions. The couple’s son Maddox was born in 2006. In June 2011, McKenzie and Seven divorced after nine years together.

McKenzie married her second husband, former Face Off judge Patrick Tatopoulos in October 2015.

Will she ever return to acting?

Playing Sheridan on Passions was Westmore’s most prominent role. Sheridan became a fan favorite due to her romance with Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald (Galen Gering). One of the couple’s most significant obstacles was being kept apart by Sheridan’s family.

During the show’s later years, Sheridan switched from heroine to villain as she fought her niece Fancy Crane (Emily Harper) for Luis’ affections. Although fans hoped for a Shuis reunion, in the series finale, Luis marries Fancy, and Sheridan reunites with Antonio Lopez-Fitzgerald (Christopher Douglas).

Although Westmore is busy with her cosmetics company, she isn’t ruling out a return to acting. Many fans would love to see her reunited with Gering on Days of Our Lives, which piques Westmore’s interest. “If they asked me, I would jump over to Days of Our Lives and go to Salem in a heartbeat,” she told Digital Journal.
