On the 21st of February 2021, Mahomes and Matthews had their first child together: a baby girl named Sterling Skye Mahomes. Mahomes posted a photo of his daughter’s hand on her birthdate, but the couple waited a while before showing their daughter to the world. At the same time, they showed themselves as proud dog parents of a pit bull, Steel, and a Cane Corso, Silver. Steel and Silver helped welcome Sterling with flower crowns and pink paw prints.
According to NBC Sports, Mahomes was afraid of dogs when he was younger, but he’s since had a change of heart and become quite attached to his pets. That’s right — just like their sports superstar owner, Steel and Silver have gotten their own sponsorships. It’s clear why this Instagram account is so popular. Tom Brady has a pit bull, too
Pit bulls must be popular with football players, because Tom Brady, previously quarterback for the New England Patriots, current quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and perhaps one of the biggest names of all time in football, has his own pit bull mix named Lua. Lua was adopted by the Brady family at some point in 2014 and appears to have become beloved by both the family and Brady’s fans. The couple has two other dogs: a beagle named Scooby, and a black-and-white mixed breed named Fluffy.
Lua is the oldest, though, and seems to hold a very special place in Brady’s heart. Brady captioned a photo of Lua on Instagram with “Yes Lua, I still love you most…”, demonstrating his deep care and love for her. The couple also has two children, a son, and a daughter. Nonetheless, the Brady couple, as well as Mahomes and Matthews, have not wavered with how much they love and pamper their dogs.
