Patrick Mahomes and his longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews are still enjoying their Super Bowl victory. Fresh off leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a win over the San Francisco 49ers, Mahomes recently posted a touching tribute to Matthews on social media. Mahomes and Matthews endure a frigid Super Bowl parade
A few days after winning Super Bowl LIV, Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs celebrated the victory with a massive parade in Kansas City, Missouri. Although it was only 27 degrees outside, Matthews braved the weather and joined her boyfriend for the festivities.
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews appeared together on the main float that made its way through Kansas City. Thousands of fans gathered to see Mahomes and his teammates, and Matthews later shared a slew of photos from the event on social media.
Several players mingled with the crowd along the parade route, but Mahomes and Matthews stayed on the double-decker bus.
In light of the weather, Mahomes and Matthews bundled up for the occasion. Matthews donned an adorable white beanie for the event while Mahomes rocked some ski goggles and a red flannel coat.
According to The Blast, the parade wrapped up with Mahomes giving a short speech to fans. The Chiefs star revealed that winning the Super Bowl has always been a major goal and that he was thrilled to have won it for a great coach like Andy Reid.
“When I became the start for Kansas City, the first thing I wanted to do is bring the Lamar Hunt trophy back to this city and organization,” Mahomes shared. “And the second most important thing was to get the Lombardi Trophy for the greatest coach of all time!”

It’s been roughly a month after the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, yet Mahomes and Matthews are still glowing from the big win.
Taking to Twitter, Mahomes shared a photo of him and Matthews embracing each other after the Super Bowl win. Mahomes posted the pic on Valentine’s Day, and fans reacted very positively to the photo.
“My valentine! [heart emoji] @brittanylynne8,” Patrick Mahomes wrote.
A few days after the Valentine’s Day pic, Mahomes shared another photo of himself posing with Matthews, only this time the two were in attendance at the NBA All-Star weekend.
“Dunk contest with the best one,” Mahomes captioned the pic on Instagram.
Based on the photos, it is clear that Mahomes and Matthews share a close bond. It is also evident that they are really enjoying their win, and we have to admit that it’ll be interesting to see what Mahomes does next season.
Inside Patrick Mahomes and Matthews’ romance
Mahomes and Matthews have been dating since they were in high school. The two attended the same high school in Whitehouse, Texas and started dating when they were in the 10th grade.
While Matthews went on to play soccer for the University of Texas at Tyler, Mahomes got himself a football scholarship at Texas Tech. Over the course of their college careers, Mahomes and Matthews kept their romance alive, despite being over 400 miles away from each other.
In 2017, the Chiefs drafted Patrick Mahomes, who immediately moved to Kansas City. At the time, Matthews was playing professional soccer for a team in Iceland named UMF Afturelding/Fram.
Matthews stopped playing soccer, however, after her team won the league championship in the fall of 2017. She then moved to Kansas City and has been by Mahomes’ side ever since.
What does Matthews do for a living?
Over the past two seasons, Brittany Matthews has been a regular at Chiefs home games. When she isn’t cheering on Patrick Mahomes from the sidelines, Matthews runs her own fitness company in the area called Brittany Lynne Fitness.
Per her company’s website, Matthews specializes in training programs and sells merchandise for the gym.
Mahomes and Matthews recently purchased a home in Kansas City worth close to $2 million. In an interview, the couple gave a tour of their new house and admitted that they absolutely love the city and the fans.
Patrick Mahomes is expected to sign a massive contract extension this offseason that will probably make him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.
