When characters die in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans know that sometimes their deaths are not permanent. There are infinite ways to bring them back since the movies and television shows are in a world full of superheroes and magic. And when it comes to Paul Bettany’s Vision, anything is possible.

Vision has died and come back multiple times throughout his time in the MCU, and, at this point, it’s like the boy who cried wolf. So, fans have been wondering recently if and when Vision will return to the MCU.

What Paul Bettany had to say about his rumored return

During an interview with British GQ, Bettany said when asked about returning to the MCU, “There were rumours about it. I don’t want to jinx anything yet. I have thoughts about what would be great to do for White Vision with a fresh start. We’ll see.”

Well, that’s a pretty Marvel answer. Bettany did not confirm or deny anything, but he teased that he had ideas about where Vision’s story could go next. It sounds like he would be open to Vision returning to the MCU in future movies. Plus, the rumors he referenced could be regarding talk Bettany has heard among people at Marvel.

With where Marvel last left off with Vision, or White Vision, Bettany’s character has a world of possibilities.

The last time we saw Paul Bettany as Vision was in ‘WandaVision’

Vision died twice in Avengers: Infinity War. The first time was by Wanda’s hands to ensure that Thanos did not get the Mind Stone to complete his Infinity Stones collection. Unfortunately, Thanos used his recently acquired Time Stone to reverse time and bring Vision back to life. He tore the Mind Stone out of Vision’s head, killing him a second time.

Flash-forward to WandaVision, which takes place directly after Avengers: Endgame, Vision is living happily with Wanda in the sitcom world of Westview. The start of the Disney+ series left fans confused because Paul Bettany’s character had died in Avengers: Infinity War. Of course, the audience and Vision soon realized that it was all a fake reality that Wanda created to keep him alive.

Then, the show revealed that S.W.O.R.D. Director, Tyler Hayward, had reactivated Vision’s body, now all-white and also played by Bettany. Hayward sent him into Westview to destroy Wanda, but the Vision that Wanda created restored White Vision’s memories. That was when he flew out of Westview, never to be seen again.

Where could fans possibly see White Vision next?

Since the character of Vision is so heavily tied to Wanda Maximoff, it’s very plausible that Paul Bettany will make a surprise appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where Wanda plays a big role. Or, even though Marvel has stated that WandaVision is a limited series, Bettany could return for another season.

Whatever the case may be, fans want to see Bettany again in future Marvel films. It wouldn’t make sense if Bettany never returned to the MCU because there was never closure regarding White Vision. Where did he go? Does he have a plan? Is he anything like the real Vision? Can he and Wanda build a future together?

We have a feeling that Paul Bettany’s future is very bright in the MCU.
