Paul McCartney Revealed His ‘Guilty Pleasure’ Is This Game Show
While Paul McCartney has a busy schedule, he said he still has some time to watch his favorite TV shows. McCartney watches television while he works out and to rid himself of any pre-show jitters. He said that one show in particular ranks highly on his list of guilty pleasures.
Paul McCartney said one of his guilty pleasures is a game show
McCartney said that he typically watches television while he works out in the morning. His taste is wide-ranging.
“Well, I like David Attenborough’s shows, and in-depth historical documentary stuff,” he said in a Q&A on his website. “But I also like Strictly.”
He admitted that the majority of his guilty pleasures are TV shows.
“I have lots of guilty pleasures,” he said. “Maybe TV shows more than music. I love Bargain Hunt.”
Bargain Hunt is a British show in which contestants buy antiques and attempt to sell them for a profit. He likes an American antique show as well.
“Big favourite at the moment is American Pickers,” he told The Mirror. “It’s great, it’s two guys Mike and Frank who go around America collecting for their antiques shop and they go to all these places, all these barns where there’s all – what they call it – rusty gold and it’s great, they find it, they bargain, it’s just a good show, they’re fun guys. Some of the stuff they find is quite amazing. So I like that.”
Paul McCartney said he watches a TV show before he goes on stage
McCartney said he likes to put on another game show before he gets onstage.
“I like to watch Steve Harvey in Family Feud!” he revealed in the book for his Freshen Up tour. “I don’t like to watch anything too serious before a show. I like to keep it light and something you can dip in and out of.”
He said he liked that the show didn’t require his constant attention.
“So if I’ve got to go in the back dressing room to change, it doesn’t matter if I miss a bit of the program,” he said. “I can come back in, and ‘100 people said,’ and I’ll give the top answer, hopefully. That’s a good fun show, and I just like the fact that you can give your answer.”
He shared what else he likes to watch
When McCartney isn’t watching antique shows, he likes to keep up with comedy programs. He said that many of his favorite shows are the ones that will make him laugh.
“I love comedy. I watch it on TV, you know Live From The Apollo, you see wonderful people on that. Then I like shows like Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You, I like those shows. And I like Would I Lie To You? I think there’s some very funny people on that, Lee Mack is a very talented boy. You sit at home with your friends or family and you say, ‘He’s lying, he’s lying”!’ That’s the kind of thing I like.”
