‘Pawn Stars’: Do Chumlee, Corey, and Rick Still Work at the Shop?
In 2009, Pawn Stars made its television debut and provided a new and exciting breath of fresh air for reality TV show fans around the world. The show rose in popularity very quickly and soon became one of the highest rated shows on the History Channel. We can’t quite explain why, but there is just something about reality TV that seems to capture the heart and attention, of not only us but millions of people around the world. With the Show’s long-running success rate, this statement seems to be especially true for Pawn Stars. Every week, viewers tune in to see some of the best behind the scenes secrets to owning a successful pawn shop and also to see what kind of crazy antics that the four main stars of the show would show us.
With the recent passing of Richard ‘Old Man’ Harrison, some people wonder what the other three stars will do now that the family patriarch is no longer with us. Do Chumlee, Corey, and Rick even work at the Gold and Silver Pawn shop in Las Vegas anymore? Here is what we know about the remaining three reality show big shots.
Still going strong
With new episodes of Pawn Stars starting back up in early 2019, it seems like the three loveable pawn shop workers are still hard at work gently breaking their customers’ hearts by letting them know that their grandma’s antiques aren’t worth nearly as much as they thought they were. Although they all still seem to be working at the world famous pawn shop, for now, we can only imagine that they have drastically cut down on the number of hours that they spend at the shop due to the fact that they all seem to have other projects in the works as well. In fact, Corey Harrison has stated that he only visits the shop to film or to check on his employees.
Rick is serving up drinks to the thirsty citizens of Las Vegas
In 2015, Rick Harrison opened up bar and grille-styled restaurant called Rick’s Rollin Smoke BBQ and Tavern that is located in the same neighborhood as his famous Gold and Silver Pawn shop. This two-story restaurant features a smaller version of an already famous Las Vegas eatery, Rollin Smoke BBQ, while the upstairs portion of the establishment is a fun and cozy-looking tavern that serves up a wide range of unique and hand-crafted beverages. The restaurant has been up and running for a little over three years, but from the looks of its outstanding reviews, Rick’s Rollin BBQ and Tavern doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
Corey’s beauty bar
In 2014, Corey ‘Big Hoss’ Harrison partnered with his friend, Darin Feinstein, and bought a historic beauty bar. The Beauty Bar Las Vegas is located on the historic Fremont Street in Las Vegas. The beauty bar was purchased after the previous owner ran it for nine years. ‘The Big Hoss’ and his friend transformed the building into an exciting night club that features live music, the hottest DJs in town, and dancing that takes place in a retro salon-styled venue.
Chumlee’s sweet tooth
Chumlee, real name Austin Russell, is known for showing his child-like humor on the show. Now, he is showing that he really is a kid at heart by owning his own candy store named Chumlee’s Candy on the Blvd. Just like Rick’s restaurant and tavern, Chumlee also chose the location of his new business to be nearby the beloved pawnshop. The candy shop is a modest-sized establishment with a wide range of candy to choose from. No matter what kind of sugar your sweet tooth craves, Chumlee’s Candy on the Blvd. is sure to have just what you are looking for.
Not Slowing Down
Although Rick, Chumlee, and Corey may not work at the pawn shop as much as they used to, they still are showing no signs that the shop will be going anywhere anytime soon. Even if they do decide to eventually close the pawn shop doors for good, there is a good chance that it will be a very long time before the three reality show celebrities decide that it is time to slow down.
