Fans are growing concerned for Thomas Shelby’s mental state after Peaky Blinders Season 5. He failed to assassinate Oswald Mosley, leaving him completely vulnerable and confused. During the season finale, he talked to his dead wife, Grace, and he pointed a gun to his head — though he doesn’t shoot. As for Peaky Blinders Season 6, anything could happen to the Shelby family now. And some fans think Tommy will die after all he’s put his family through over the years.
So, does Thomas Shelby die? Esquire interviewed Cillian Murphy about the character. And he gave a short anecdote that seems to confirm his character lives.
“A woman put up her hand and said, ‘You won’t hurt him, will you?’” Murphy explained. “I said, ‘What do you mean?’ She said, ‘You won’t hurt Tommy? You’re not going to kill him or anything?’ I said, ‘I don’t know.’ She was really upset. This makes it sound like this was a mad person, but she was self-evidently sane and normal; she was just so worried his fate was in my hands. In the end, I said, ‘I promise I won’t kill him.’”

After Peaky Blinders Season 6 ends, fans of the show have a movie to look forward to. Variety reports the Peaky Blinders film that will continue the Shelby family saga will begin filming in 2023, according to show creator Steven Knight.
“And then I am going to write the feature which will be set in and shot in Birmingham,” Knight said at the BFI London Film Festival. “And that will probably be the sort of the end of the road for Peaky Blinders as we know it.”
Cillian Murphy told Esquire he has involvement in the new film, too — but he wouldn’t share more about what that meant. It also seems he’s not quite sure about what involvement means for him just yet.
“Mmm, talk,” Murphy added regarding the movie. “I’m open to ideas. I think [Knight] wants to, but I haven’t read anything.”
‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6 finished filming and will have a February 2022 release date
Peaky Blinders Season 6 officially finished filming, and Cillian Murphy confirmed in his interview with Esquire that the new season will air in February 2022. According to Esquire, Murphy shared the month when talking with a fan.
Additionally, Arthur Shelby actor Paul Anderson hinted at a February 2022 release date. Anderson posted a photo on Instagram of him and Murphy. “This is the first-ever image of Tommy and Arthur,” Anderson captioned the post in January 2021. “We picked these guns up for the first time 10 years ago, and next month we put them down for the last time!”
When will Peaky Blinders Season 6 go to Netflix? Netflix hasn’t yet confirmed the release date, but likely a few months after it premieres on the BBC Network.
