Fans of the Shelby family can’t wait to see how their story concludes with Peaky Blinders Season 6. In season 5 of the TV show, fans saw Thomas Shelby get betrayed, but who betrayed him remains a mystery. Now, set photos for season 6 show Tommy and Michael Gray fighting, and Michael is pictured in a prison uniform. Here’s what could be going on.

Who betrayed Tommy Shelby? Many suspect Michael Gray

Fans hope to discover who betrayed Tommy in Peaky Blinders Season 6. In season 5, Tommy got quite close to Oswald Mosley, the politician who eventually becomes the leader of the British Union of Fascists. Tommy set up a perfect plot to assassinate Mosley, but his plot went awry, as someone foiled it. Mosley walked away unscathed, and Tommy was left wondering who betrayed him.

So, who betrayed Tommy Shelby? Many assume Michael, Aunt Polly Gray’s son, was the one to backstab, as he hoped to take part of Shelby Company Limited to America with his wife, Gina Gray. And Anthony Byrne, the director of season 5, said fans will certainly find out who backstabs Tommy in season 6.

“I think so, if you’ve paid close attention, yeah, I think so,” Byrne said of learning who betrayed the Shelbys. “You certainly find out. But yeah, we actually cut stuff around that end section to make it more oblique.”

It looks like there’s even more evidence to support the idea that a war rages between Michael and Tommy in Peaky Blinders Season 6. According to The Scottish Sun, a few of the first scenes filmed for season 6 involved Tommy and Michael. And it didn’t look like the characters were getting too friendly.

According to the publication, Michael was dressed as an inmate, and Portsoy Harbour in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, was turned into a prison. Across from Michael in a photo was Tommy dressed in his typical black cap and coat. Two guards surrounded the main characters as they spoke.

As for the scene itself, the publication notes Michael gets handed a note that appears to upset him. This results in him lunging forward toward Tommy, clearly angry with what he reads. The guards then restrain Michael. Additional set photos show Michael angrily speaking and pointing to Tommy as a guard forcibly takes him away. Tommy calmly walks on with a cigarette in his mouth.
