Pentatonix hosted several television holiday specials thanks to NBC

This a capella group is known for Grammy Award-winning arrangements, like their cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and their Daft Punk medley. Pentatonix is also known for releasing Christmas and holiday music.

That includes their version of “Mary Did You Know,’ which currently holds over 110 million plays on Spotify. Their original song titled “That’s Christmas to Me” has over 50 million Spotify plays.

“It’s the best part of the year,” Scott Hoying said during a 2018 interview with Billboard. “You get to be with family, and it’s just so warm and cozy. A cappella blends with Christmas so well, and that’s why we did our first Christmas EP. ‘Carol of the Bells’ [from 2012’s PTXmas] did really well on YouTube, and it’s so much fun, so we made another album after that.”

Pentatonix featured this music in 2016’s A Pentatonix Christmas Special with special guests Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. The a capella group appeared in A Very Pentatonix Christmas in conjunction with the television network during 2017. Their third Christmas special, Pentatonix: A Not So Silent Night, debuted in 2018 on NBC.

Is Pentatonix releasing another holiday television special in 2021

Pentatonix did not appear in their holiday special during 2020. However, some fans wonder if these artists will return to NBC again this holiday season. However, as of October 2021, Pentatonix has not announced an upcoming holiday television special.

Presumably, more information will be announced in the coming weeks. Until then, there are some Christmas-themed perks available to fans, though, including the PTX Official online “Holiday House.”

Previous years brought Pentatonix’s appearance in other holiday specials, including the “Disney Parks Parade.” The group performed “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.

Pentatonix released its sixth holiday album in 2021, ‘Evergreen’

In 2021, Pentatonix released its album The Lucky Ones. However, just in time for the holidays, the band debuted their new holiday album, Evergreen. This album featured new covers of already-released Christmas favorites like “Frosty the Snowman” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear.”

Evergreen also includes the song popularized by Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, “It’s Been a Long, Long Time,” and their remake of Stevie Wonder’s “I Just Called To Say I Love You.” In conjunction with this album, the band is embarking on their first tour in a “long, long time,” presumably performing some holiday hits across the United States.

Music by the award-winning group, Pentatonix, including their albums That’s Christmas to Me and A Pentatonix Christmas Deluxe, are available on most major streaming platforms. That includes Apple Music and Spotify.
