People Are Comparing This Kardashian-Jenner Photo to An Episode of ‘The Office’
The Kardashian family is no stranger to photos that go viral, but they might have recently outdone themselves.
Following a star-studded baby shower thrown by Khloe Kardashian for her pregnant best friend Malika Haqq, photos of the event hit social media, and one, in particular, was noted by fans for it’s undeniable similarities to a famous scene from the iconic comedy The Office.
Fans recently took to Reddit to discuss the photo, why it is so odd, and why it looks just like that one scene from The Office.
The Kardashian family loves throwing extravagant parties
Ever since the Kardashian family rose to fame, through the popular TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, they have cultivated a very specific public image. The family has become known for their love of expensive brand names, including handbags that cost thousands of dollars, private jets, luxury vehicles, and exotic trips to vacation destinations all over the world.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan also loves a good party – especially one that involves pulling out all the stops. Their family birthday parties have become the stuff of legend. When Kris Jenner turned sixty, her family threw her an incredible “Great Gatsby”-inspired party that reportedly cost around $2 million.
Kylie Jenner’s 18th birthday party was another extravagant affair. The teenager received close to $400,000 in gifts and wore a birthday gown that reportedly cost around $10,000. Holiday parties are also an occasion for the family to go all out.
For Kris Jenner’s annual Christmas party, the family enjoys celebrity entertainment every year and even live reindeer from time to time.
Malika Haqq’s baby shower was pure Kardashian indulgence
The Kardashian-Jenner family loves babies, so it stands to reason that they pull out all the stops when it comes to hosting baby showers. In early February, Khloe Kardashian’s best friend, Malika Haqq, celebrated her pregnancy with a fabulous party, thrown by Khloe Kardashian herself. The shower, which was held at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills, featured a bear theme.
Through the many pictures shared of the event, it definitely looks as though the shower was appropriately over-the-top. There were hundreds of balloons of varying sizes all throughout the event space, two life-sized bears made entirely out of moss, and a table full of bear-themed snacks and drinks.
Besides Khloe Kardashian, many other members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan showed up to the event, including Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kris Jenner.
The Kardashian photo that looks just like a scene from ‘The Office’
Although many of the event photos were undeniably adorable, there was one that has fans very divided. The photo in question shows Kris Jenner at the baby shower, standing in front of a wall full of balloons of varying sizes. Fans on Reddit put that photo next to a shot of Jim from The Office, in the episode where he was partially tasked with planning a party and ended up with a bunch of semi-deflated balloons strewn around a tabletop.
Many fans were disturbed by the shower photo as much as they were amused by the comparison. A few posters claimed that the beige balloons were very much Kanye West’s style and said that the varying colors of beige made them uncomfortable.
Other posters said that the balloon colors gave off a vaguely medical vibe and that the entire party was entirely too much.
Still, one fan reminded the group that apparently, Malika had requested no colors for the baby shower so the family was kind of limited in the decor scheme that they could run with.
