People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet Glambot and Why ‘RHOBH’ Fans Are Saying Cast Didn’t Understand The Assignment
It was a night of glamour at the People’s Choice Awards 2021. One of the biggest moments of the night for Bravo TV viewers was when the ladies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills took over the red carpet. The cast was nominated in the Reality Show category and the stars were on sight hoping to win the trophy. Kyle Richards, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, Erika Jayne, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Dorit Kemsley, and Lisa Rinna wore stunning outfits for the event. However, some of them had a faux pas during the red carpet and now fans are saying they didn’t understand the assignment.
Why didn’t the ‘RHOBH’ cast understand the assignment?
Fans of fashion know that the red carpet event is the main event as they get to see what their favorite stars are wearing. E! has a camera that they call “glam bot” which makes a video of a subject and puts it in slow motion. The camera moves fast and it’s in post-production where they slow down the video to get all the details of the outfits.
Some of the RHOBH stars are seemingly not used to attending these types of events or posing for the glam bot. There were some personalities that didn’t know the mechanics of the camera and completely failed the assignment, according to fans. When Bravo posted videos of some of the housewives, it wasn’t long before fans weighed in with their opinions.
“No one understood the assignment,” a fan said.
“oof Sutton didn’t understand the assignment,” a follower added.
“Where to begin. Dorit’s dress, Rinna’s Lips, Sutton’s whatever she is doing….?” an Instagram user mentioned.
“I’d try to be a Dorit but I’d end up being a Sutton,” another fan commented.
“Lisa is a no and Dorit is a ‘what we’re you thinking.’ It looks like what you’d wear to a Porn Awards show. Sutton is different – but that’s always her thing. Crystal looks nice,” another follower said.
“It’s ALL wrong. With Dorit? Lord woman you’re not in your 20’s or 30’s. They all look like they’re trying too hard. Be the gorgeous woman you are!!! Why so over the top??” another Instagram user noted.
Not all comments were bad
However, despite Kemsley getting a lot of criticism, there were some fans that actually gave her props for her outfit.
“Dorit understands the assignment OVER AND OVER AGAIN,” a fan posted.
“Dorit’s dress is insaaane,” another fan added.
Good or bad, the RHOBH stars delivered and gave fans something to talk about. The cast is in the middle of shooting their new season after delivering a smashing season earlier this year.
‘RHOBH’ didn’t win at PCAs 2021
The cast of RHOBH had a tough competition in The Reality Show of 2021 category. Other shows that were nominated in the same category included 90 Day Fiancé, Bachelor in Paradise, Below Deck, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Ultimately, the people chose KUWTK to make them their winners for the year. Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kris Jenner were in attendance and accepted the award.
“Thank you guys so much,” Kim said accepting the award. “This is a bittersweet moment for us because you guys have voted for us on our last season of KUWTK. It’s been an incredible 14-year ride and all the memories we have can never be replaced.”
Kim continued, “We started this show with an idea of bringing our crazy family into your homes and we could not have imagined it would have lasted this long.”
Other winners of the night included Lil Nas X for Male Artist of 2021.
