Who Performs the Disney Enchantment Song for Walt Disney World’s New Magic Kingdom Firework Show?
Walt Disney World features many magical moments, their nighttime spectaculars among them. Here’s what we know about the upcoming projection and fireworks show, titled Disney Enchantment, and its new song, “You Are the Magic.”
Disney created a new fireworks show in honor of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
For 50 years, Walt Disney World brought smiles and laughter to children of all ages, even earning the nickname the “Happiest Place on Earth.” It’s known for its thrill rides, like Animal Kingdom’s Flight of Passage, and its award-winning restaurants, like the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa’s Victoria & Albert’s.
Fans also know this theme park for its “nighttime spectaculars,” particularly Magic Kingdom’s “Happily Ever After.” However, after years of lighting up the night sky, Disney announced the retirement of its uplifting and innovative firework show.
In its place, Magic Kingdom would house the new nighttime spectacular, titled Disney Enchantment. Unlike past nighttime shows, Disney Enchantment will include immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.
This new nighttime spectacular debuted just in time for the 50th Anniversary celebration. Similarly, EPCOT debuted its new fireworks display, HarmonioUS, which came months after Walt Disney World debuted EPCOT Forever, a nighttime spectacular highlighting iconic aspects of this theme park.
Who sings ‘You Are the Magic’ from Disney Enchantment?
This projection and firework show debuts to the public on Oct. 1, 2021, presumably featuring some familiar Disney characters throughout its run. Disney Enchantment will also showcase new songs, including the title song “You Are the Magic.”
According to Disney Parks Blog, “Philip Lawrence not only wrote “You Are the Magic” but also performs the song in “Disney Enchantment” along with actor and singer Kayla Alvarez, another former Walt Disney World cast member.”
Alvarez previously appeared in Guardian’s of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Live in EPCOT. According to Disney Fandom, Lawrence acted as the voice of Sebastian from The Little Mermaid since 2007, replacing Samuel E. Wright.
‘Teen Beach Movie’ actor, Jordan Fisher, was one of the artists behind ‘Happily Ever After’
Happily Ever After featured Disney hits from Pirates of the Caribbean, The Little Mermaid, Princess and the Frog, and others. It also included an original song, “Happily Ever After,” now available on most major music streaming platforms.
The Voice’s Angie Keilhauer and former Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2 actor Jordan Fisher performed the title song. Fisher appeared in the Disney Parks several other times, even viewing the final showing of Happily Ever After.
“To Our Happy Place,” Fisher captioned the post. “On the final night of our show, I’m reminded of all the memories and magic you’ve given us. Thank you for letting Happily Ever After (and even little old me) be a small part of yours.”
Disney Enchantment will be available for viewing at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom beginning Oct. 1, 2021.
