Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, until his trial in May 2025. He pleads not guilty to racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Jay-Z marks the first celebrity officially connected to the civil allegations against Combs. According to a plaintiff, Jay-Z raped her at 13 years old in 2000 with Combs present. Now, there are photos from that night that show Jennifer Lopez was with Combs.

Photos show Jennifer Lopez with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs the same night as the Jay-Z allegations

Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, has vehemently denied the allegations suggesting he raped a 13-year-old in 2000. According to the amended lawsuit, originally filed in October 2024, Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped a 13-year-old at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. The unnamed accuser also alleged that another woman was present during the assaults.

Photos shared by The U.S. Sun show Combs and his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, together at the afterparty. Lopez and Combs had a relationship from 1999 to 2001 after meeting on the set of her music video for “If You Had My Love.” On the night of the afterparty in 2000, Lopez wore a sleeveless minidress covered in a geometric pattern. Combs wore a white T-shirt and black hat and held a bottle of alcohol.

The photos shared by the publication appear to depict an altercation between the couple. Lopez appears to be yelling at Combs while he puts his hand up. Another photo shows Lopez looking down at the ground as Combs turns back around to the crowd of people. Yet another photo appears to show Lopez storming off without Combs.

It’s unclear what may have caused an issue between the couple at the afterparty. Many other socialites stand around the couple in the photos as well.

A staff member who worked with Jennifer Lopez said Lopez has no connection to the crimes

Jennifer Lopez hasn’t publicly acknowledged the accusations against Sean “Diddy” Combs or Jay-Z. She continues to keep her head low as she navigates her divorce from Ben Affleck.

Thea de Sousa, a staff member who worked on Lopez’s 2002 film, Maid In Manhattan, came to Lopez’s defense on Threads. According to the staffer, Combs briefly “charmed” Lopez, but she did not have any part in Combs’ criminal activity.

“If you knew Jennifer Lopez, if you ever worked with her like I did, or if you were close with people who are like family to her like I am, you would know she did not have any idea about Diddy,” Sousa said, according to DailyMail.com. “She barely drinks, she is not a partier, she isn’t a good time girl, she is a workaholic who uplifts a woman and who was charmed by him for a brief time in her life.”

The public will most likely learn more about the unnamed female celebrity in the Jay-Z case

Those following the civil case against Jay-Z likely wonder who the unnamed “Celebrity B” is in the lawsuit. Criminal defense lawyer Julia Jayne told Fox News Digital that the female celebrity not yet named is likely “lawyering up” behind the scenes.

“Likely, that celebrity’s name will come out, but no celebrity wants to be associated with this case, even as a witness,” Jayne said. “It would be negative publicity.”

Criminal defense lawyer Lauren Johnson-Norris added that Celebrity B could’ve already spoken to the accuser. “It is to be seen if Celebrity B will say she was there on her own free will, or if she was a victim as well,” Johnson-Norris said.
