‘Power Book II: Ghost’: All the Clues That Ghost Will Return in Season 2
Power Book II: Ghost follows Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) in the aftermath of his father, James “Ghost” St. Patrick’s (Omari Hardwick) death. Though Tariq is determined to find his own path, he has continued to follow in his father’s footsteps. Though season 1 was a wild ride, season 2 of Ghost has been explosive. In fact, there are continued signs that Ghost will return.
Here’s what we know about the possible resurrection of James “Ghost” St. Patrick.
‘Power Book II: Ghost’ fans are convinced that Ghost is alive
When Power wrapped its sixth and final season, fans were stunned by James “Ghost” St. Patrick’s death at the hands of his son. Since then, fans have tried to find clues that Ghost somehow survived being shot. At the end of Power Book II Season 1, Tommy (Joseph Sikora) confronts Tariq at James’ grave, but Monet Tejana (Mary J. Blige) intervenes. During the scene, an ambulance went by in the distance. Fans say that the only other time we’ve seen an ambulance is after Ghost was shot at Truth.
“This ambulance truck itself is referencing the fact that there was an ambulance that left Truth too early after Ghost had been shot,” a Youtube video about this theory revealed. “And of all places, where does this happen? At the supposed burial site of James St. Patrick.”
Power Universe actors have also hinted at Ghost making a comeback.
Larenz Tate advised ‘Power’ Universe fans to keep their eyes open
Fans have been desperately hunting for clues that Ghost somehow lives. However, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp has continued to say that Ghost is dead. Still, that hasn’t stopped Larenz Tate who portrays councilman Rashad Tate and Tariq’s professor from dropping some telling clues.
“As far as I know, he’s outta there. Who knows if he’ll show up,” the Love Jones actor told Express. “He’s gone, as far as Rashard and everybody else on the show knows.”
Michael Rainey Jr. says Ghosts never die
Rainey’s character Tariq killed his father in the final season of Power and watched him die on the floor of his nightclub Truth. However, the 21 -year-old has also been cryptic about Ghost’s possible reemergence.
“He may not be with us anymore, but Ghosts never dies,” Rainey explained to Express. “You’re gonna see the true definition of that line, that’s going to unfold this season. I hope that they take away how crazy stuff is and how heavy we coming, we coming in hot so I just hope everyone is ready. The Power Universe is crazy, one second it could be the calmest thing in the world and boom snap of the finger everything changes. The beginning of the season is just insane. It’s funny because, at the beginning of first of the two seasons, of both seasons, [Tariq’s’] coming off murdering somebody.”
As Tariq knows from his father’s legacy, he can’t outrun his misdeeds forever, which could hint at why Rainey has been adamant about ghosts never dying.
