Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has never been one to hold his tongue. The Power Universe and BMF executive producer is as famous for his TV shows and music as he is for trolling others. However, Gianni Paolo, who portrays Brayden Weston in Power and Power Book II: Ghost says that 50 Cent is simply misunderstood.

In fact, Paolo insists that all of 50 Cent’s trolling has to do with marketing his TV series.

50 Cent is known for his trolling

Power Universe and BMF producer 50 Cent is known for commenting on all manner of popular culture, trolling celebrities, companies, and everyday people. He’s even gone after Starz, the network where he has a $150 million contract and houses many of his TV series.

The rapper/actor/director has accused Starz of leaking episodes, stalling production, and everything in between. However, Paolo says things aren’t always quite how they appear.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ star Gianni Paolo says 50 Cent tolls for marketing reasons

Though the executive producer may be in a major beef with someone every other weekend, Paolo insists that it’s all about marketing and making sure his shows get their attention. “He’s a sweet guy, he really is,” the actor told TMZ’s Verified Podcast. “He directed one of my first episodes in season 6, and that was a trip. His first episode of television he directed ever was with us.  He’s a troll, but for the right reasons because he wants to promote his stuff. When you see him getting into a beef with someone on Instagram, it’s because he has another show coming out.”

As we know, when Power Book IV: Force Season 1 came to an end in April 2022, 50 Cent complained that there would be no series of his on Starz for six months. However, Starz has confirmed a Summer 2022 release date for Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2.

This means that 50 Cent likely wanted to stir the pot to make sure fans were invested in the short time gap between his series.

Gianni Paolo gave ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ fans insights on Brayden’s role in season 3

While Raising Kanan is back this summer, Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 won’t be back on the air until November 2022. Still, Paolo has been kind enough to hint at where we might see Brayden next.

“I want to kill someone; that’s like a dream Brayden; I want to get deep in,” Paolo said on an Instagram Live with Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp. “I would like to get it on or a romance, those are always fun, that kind of stuff. I want him to see when he’s actually in love and when he’s actually with someone.”

The Power Universe creator hinted, “I think some of that is coming.”

If nothing else, we can expect the relationship between Brayden and Tariq to change drastically in season 3. After all, Brayden is hiding a very dark secret from his best friends that can change the course of their friendship forever.
