Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) has been thrown into absolute turmoil on Power Book II: Ghost. In the first season, we watched him balance his life as a college student with his work as a drug dealer. However, in season 2, that has all exploded and it’s cost him one of the only people that meant anything to him, his sister.

Yasmine (Paris Morgan) is perhaps one of the only innocent people left in the Power Universe. Though Tariq tried to protect her, his past actions have affected everything. But has Yasmine disappeared from the show forever?

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2 is about to come to an explosive end

The season 2 finale is titled, “Love and War.” The official description reads, “Tariq refuses to give up on his loved ones. Tariq must help Monet save her own family. Monet, finally seeing the whole board, must move quickly to protect her family from Mecca.”

As we know, the family that Tariq has left is his mother, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), his grandmother, Estelle (Debbie Morgan), and his sister Yasmine. Earlier in the season, after Estelle was arrested for a DUI, Yasmine was put in the foster system and Tariq was working to regain custody of her.

Though the 18-year-old eventually did convince a judge to grant him custody, everything fell apart when he was arrested and charged with double homicide.

But is this the last we will see of Yasmine of Power Book II: Ghost?

Yasmine may have disappeared from the ‘Power’ Universe forever

Tariq was horrified to learn from his lawyer that Yasmine was in the process of being adopted. The adoption was set in motion due to provisions from his father’s will which stated that if anything happened to the family, the youngest St. Patrick would be placed into a nice home, with her name changed and the records sealed.

In episode 209, “A Fair Fight?” Tariq watched from a window as Yasmine celebrated her birthday with a seemingly loving family. Moreover, during an Instagram Live on Jan. 25, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp seemed to allude that this was the last fans would be seeing of Yasmine on screen. She said that she would have loved to catch up with the character years down the line to see how her new life and her family’s decisions had impacted her.

However, Power Universe fans know how often people from the past pop up in the future. As we all know, Yasmine still has that burner phone that Tariq slipped her when she was first placed into foster care.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 has begun filming in New York

There could still be hope for a Yasmine and Tariq reunion in the future. The third season of Power Book II: Ghost has just begun filming after weeks of delays in New York City. During her Jan. 25, Instagram Live, Kemp spoke with LaToya Tonodeo who portrays Diana Tejada on the show. During their chat, the creator/writer/ producer asked Tonodeo how her first day back filming was. Tonodeo responded that everything went really smoothly.

Despite blowing up her mother, Monet Tejada’s (Mary J. Blige) world, it looks like Diana will live to see another day. Hopefully, the same can be said for Yasmine.
