‘Power Book II: Ghost’: Season 2 Will Have Some Very Dramatic Deaths According to Courtney Kemp
Power Book II: Ghost has just launched its second season. The series follows college student Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.). Following his father’s death, Tariq attempts to juggle his life in school with his role as a drug dealer for the Tejada crime family.
Unfortunately, Tariq is having trouble keeping his two lives separate and as season 2 presses forward things appear to be on the verge of imploding. In fact, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp says that fans should expect some very dramatic deaths this season.

Two episodes in, the second season of Power Book II: Ghost is already a whirlwind. Amid the death of Professor Jabari Reynolds (Justin McManus), Tariq’s life as a drug dealer is beginning to interfere with his life as a college student. Things are only set to get more dramatic from here.
“In the second season, Tariq’s journey with the Tejada family will get even more complicated — and more dangerous — as he begins to understand the man he’s going to become,” Power Universe creator Kemp told TV Line.
This season is also tackling ethics, which Tariq is studying in his Canonical Studies class.
Courtney Kemp says ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2 will have several dramatic deaths
The second season of Ghost has only just begun. However, Power creator Kemp is already dropping hints about what fans can expect. On a recent Instagram Live writer/showrunner Kemp revealed that there are going to be several dramatic deaths this season.
Paige Hurd who portrays Lauren on the show also hinted at some explosive bombshells this season.
“Literally me every week watching y’all find out more like,” she tweeted. “It’s sooo hard, I can’t wait for all the bombs to drop, this season is wild!!!! @ghoststarz#powerghost”
Fans are convinced Tariq will kill Monet and Lorenzo Tejada
Though Kemp did not spill the beans about who is going to die this season, fans have their own ideas. In fact, some believe that Tariq will kill Monet and Lorenzo to take over their empire. A Reddit user believes Tariq will use Ghost’s killing of Breeze and his set up of Kanan as a blueprint to take over the Tejadas’ business.
“As for Tariq, even though his dumba** choose to enter the game through will and manipulation, I feel that he will want out the game toward the end of Power and he will have to take out Monet and Lorenzo Tejada to do that since they basically own him and he’s their main moneymaker right now,” they speculated via Express.
While we don’t necessarily think the Tejada matriarch and patriarch’s lives are on the line, some other characters including Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) and Zeke (Daniel Bellomy) seem to be more obvious choices.
