Power Book II: Ghost is the best-ranked series on the Starz network. When season 2 ended at the top of 2022, fans were stunned. They were desperate to know what Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) would do next. As we know, he is now further entangled with the Tejada family and its matriarch Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige).

Filming for the third season is currently underway and despite executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s frustrations with Starz network, it appears to be on track to premiere this fall.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 is currently in production

Though there was a slight delay in filming amid the Omicron surge in New York City at the end of 2021, filming for the third season of Ghost has been underway since January. As we know from the season 2 finale, Tariq is still embedded with the Tejada family. His mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton), and younger sister are safe in witness protection, and Brayden (Gianni Paolo) has been forced out of school at his father’s bidding.

Brayden and Effie (Alix Lapri) are also hiding a dark secret from Tariq about what happened to Lauren (Paige Hurd)

“There will be fault lines drawn between Tariq and his friends, for various reasons,” Power Universe Creator Courtney Kemp explained to Entertainment Weekly. “And then those will affect some fault lines that will be drawn within the Tejada family. There will be a series of earthquakes, and then a series of aftershocks that will shake the foundation and remake the series in a really sort of impactful way. That’s season 3.”

‘Ghost’ Season 3 is on track to launch this fall

Since production is underway, and Power Book III: Raising Kanan is set to launch this summer, it appears that Ghost Season 3 is on track for a fall release. In fact, According to IMDb, Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 will begin airing on November 20, 2022.

During a recent public gripe with Starz, 50 Cent had said that he wouldn’t have any new shows on the network for six months after the Force Season 1 finale.

However, since Raising Kanan will air before then, that appears to be an inaccurate statement. “I don’t have a date, but I can tell you they are shooting the finale right now,” Kemp said during an Instagram Live. “We had to push part of the season because of COVID. The Omicron surge made us have to delay the beginning of Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 and take a break in the middle of Raising Kanan Season 2. It’s going to be on a little later as a result, but like a tiny bit. And I think it’s actually more going to affect the second half of the season, but not that much.”

‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 Will Have a Major Tie to ‘Empire’

50 Cent probably won’t be able to buy the ‘Power’ Universe from Starz

At present, 50 Cent is frustrated with Starz amid episode leaks and what he calls production timeline delays. “FORCE is the highest-rated premiere of any show on the network. when they take too long to greenlight it, it pushes the production timeline back,” he said on  Instagram. “After tonight’s episode there are 3 left, April 10 it’s a wrap. 🤷🏽‍♂️then 6 months till I have anything new.”

In fact, he’s been talking about buying the Power Universe from the network. Though the executive producer certainly has enough money to do so, we highly doubt Starz’s shows contracts would allow that to happen.

However, there is a possibility that he could walk away from Starz altogether. After all, his $150 million four-year deal is coming to a close this year.
