‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 Is ‘Way Better Than Season 2,’ Says Actor
Power Book II: Ghost has introduced a new problem for Tariq St. Patrick. Mecca’s dead, thanks to Monet Tejada. But police think Tariq did it after spotting him on video surveillance. Though plot details are limited, actor Gianni Paolo has teased that Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 will be even better than the last.
‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 is coming
Starz announced it December of 2021 that it had ordered another season of the show.
“The continued success and cultural resonance of the ‘Power’ universe is unprecedented, and fans are clearly still hungry for more ‘Power Book II: Ghost,’” Starz CEO and President Jeffrey Hirsch said in a statement, via Variety. “We’re excited for the third season of the star-studded series to get into production early next year just ahead of the debut ‘Power Book IV: Force,’ the fourth installment in the rapidly expanding franchise.”
Paolo confirmed that season 3 is now underway and described it as one of the best yet.
“We’re getting these scripts, and I’m like, OK season 1 was great. Season 2 was like holy f***. You saw it on Twitter, how insane everyone went. I’m getting these scripts for episodes one, two, and three and I’m like, the bar is just being set higher and higher,” he told This Is 50. “I’m reading it [thinking], people are gonna go nuts for this. It’s even way better than season 2, and I’m like, this is crazy. So I’m excited for everyone to see this.”
Gianni Paolo teased details for ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3
When it comes to his character, specifically, Paolo teased that viewers will see Brayden “getting darker and darker.”
“Just wait for it,” he said. “Brayden is just getting darker and darker and deeper into the game. I think season 3 is Brayden’s coming-out party for who he really is. You’re gonna see. I’m telling you.”
In the season 2 finale, Brayden was pulled out of Stansfield University after testifying that he was behind CourseCorrect. Of course, he’s going to stay in contact with Tariq, but the secret of what happened to Lauren Baldwin will cause problems between them.
“There will be fault lines drawn between Tariq and his friends, for various reasons,” show creator Courtney Kemp told Entertainment Weekly of season 3. “And then those will affect some fault lines that will be drawn within the Tejada family. There will be a series of earthquakes, and then a series of aftershocks that will shake the foundation and remake the series in a really sort of impactful way. That’s season 3.”
