‘Power Book II: Ghost’: Zeke Has Become One of the Most Hated Characters on the Show
Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 is underway and already Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) has found himself between a rock and a hard place. While trying to juggle his life as a college student and a drug dealer, he’s also dealing with the fall out of the murder of his professor Jabari Reynolds (Justin Marcel McManus). However, Tariq isn’t the only one who is struggling this season. Monet Tejada’s (Mary J. Blige) NBA-bound nephew, Ezekiel “Zeke” Cross (Daniel Bellomy) has also found himself in quite a pickle.
In fact, he’s emerged as one of the most hated characters on the show.
‘Power Book II: Ghost’ fans had a major complaint about season 1
When Power Book II: Ghost premiered, fans became immediately enthralled in Tariq’s new world. However, fans did have a major complaint about the first season. Jabari Reynolds and Carrie Milgram’s (Melanie Liburd) on-again, off-again romance was nauseating to watch, Then when Carrie got involved with Zeke, things got even more tiresome.
“What is the end goal with the two professors? Really feeling like they are wasting screen time,” one Redditor said via The Sun. Another added, “Horrible writing and acting as usual from Power. It’s pretty much a series staple at this point. Along with over-gratuitous sex scenes. Hilarious.”
Now that Jabari has died, fans have centered in on Zeke as one of the most hated characters on the show.
Zeke has become one of the most hated characters on ‘Ghost’
Tariq gets into Stansfield late under the guise that he will help the academically struggling Zeke thrive and get back on the basketball court. That hasn’t exactly happened. Instead, Zeke has found himself entangled with Carrie and caught in the middle of Jabari’s death investigation.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the capacity to think of his feet, and in episode 203, he dug quite the hole for himself amid Detective Whitman’s (Jeff Hephner) interrogation.
After watching the episode, fans on Instagram were horrified at Zeke’s naivety. “Zeke gotta be the dumbest character on power book 2,” one fan commented via Express. Another added, “Calling it now Zeke getting killed on power book 2!” Another fan commented “Zeke is extremely slow #PowerBook2. I just don’t understand lmao.”
Will Zeke die in Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 2?
Though Monet has promised to get the police of Zeke’s back and get him to the NBA, we’re not so certain her plan is going to pan out as she hopes. After all, Detective Whitman is out for blood, and Zeke is too much of an imbecile to outmaneuver him.
It also doesn’t help that some leaked photo from a future episode of this season shows a Monet and Zeke amid a shootout on the basketball court. Ahead of the Season 2 premiere, Daily Mail published some leaked photos of Monet and Zeke standing in a New York City basketball court with whom appears to be a bodyguard of Monet’s.
In the next photo, Monet and Zeke are crouching behind a dumpster and Monet has a gun in her hand. At present, Monet sees Zeke as her family’s ticket out of the game, but we also think she’s quickly sacrificed him for herself or any of her children.
