Starz’s third installment in the Power Universe, Power Book III: Raising Kanan is set to end its first season with a bang. 15-year-old Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis), is firmly in the game now. Over the course of season 1, we’ve watched the character made famous by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson slowly begin his transformation into a cold-blooded gangster. Instead of taking an opportunity to go to an elite high school, Kanan has become a part of his mother Raquel “Raq” Thomas’ (Patina Miller) drug organization.

Kanan is currently running with his mother and uncles, Marvin (London Brown) and Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays). However, 50 Cent just revealed if his mentor Breeze will appear in the season 1 finale.

Why is Breeze so important in the ‘Power’ Universe?

Though fans have gotten sucked into Kanan’s origin story in Raising Kanan, they have been griping about the pothole of Breeze from the beginning. Power fans first learned about Breeze in season 2 of the original series. When we met adult Kanan (50 Cent), he explained that Breeze taught him everything he knew about the drug game.

Kanan revealed that he and Breeze took Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora) under their wing only to be betrayed later. Ghost set Kanan up to go to prison and he killed Breeze to eliminate him. However, since Kanan’s mother is a queenpin who is teaching him about the game, the series has seemingly overlooked Breeze.

“They was like Breeze taught him the streets when his mom is a f—— queenpin too so I don’t know what he gains from him in that way honestly,” a Redditor explained via Express. Though Raq is showing Kanan the ropes now, that doesn’t mean that Breeze won’t appear soon.

50 Cent says Breeze won’t be appearing in the ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Season 1 finale

It looks like fans are going to wait a bit longer for the Breeze plothole to resolve itself in Raising Kanan. According to 50 Cent, Breeze will not appear in the season 1 finale. However, Breeze, Ghost, and Tommy could appear on the series later on down the line.

“Not before the end of this season, but there’s a possibility to bring in young Ghost, young Tommy, and Breeze,” 50 Cent told Express. “We’re already on a journey, it explains the monster you saw in me playing Kanan,” he continued. “The trauma, everything he’s gone through.”

Is Breeze D-Wiz’s older brother?

There has been a ton of speculation about Breeze and who he might be. Some fans think that Breeze is actually Kanan’s Uncle Marvin. Others think he could be Raq’s lover Symphony (Toby Sandeman). However, another plausible explanation is that we know exactly who Breeze is, but we haven’t met him yet.

When the series first premiered, we were introduced to Kanan’s best friends, Derek “D-Wiz” Washington (Nile Bullock). Unlike Kanan, D-Wiz never hesitated when it came to violence. Therefore, when he and Kanan spotted one of Unique’s (Joey Bada$$) boys posted up on what they thought were Raq’s corners, D-Wiz jumped in immediately. Getting some guns from his older brother who had recently been released from prison, D-Wiz and Kanan shot Unique’s corner boy, Buck Twenty (Donte Grey). To prevent Unique from retaliating against Kanan, Raq had Lou Lou murder D-Wiz.

Raq revealed the truth about D-Wiz’s death to Kanan in episode 108. As Movie Bot points out, we don’t know much about D-Wiz’s brother other than he’s about that life. We could see Kanan later linking with D-Wiz’s brother as penance for being a part of the plot that got one of his best friends killed.
