‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’: Detective Howard Has a Vengeful Plan, According to Fans
Power Book III: Raising Kanan left a trail of destruction in its season 1 finale, leaving some characters out of commission. Knowing who’s alive, who’s dead, and who needs to look over their shoulder, fans are already predicting what would and should happen in season 2 of the TV show. Raq is ruthless, Marvin and Lou-Lou are not on the same page, and Kanan really has no power. But where does that leave Omar Epps’ Detective Howard? Some viewers have an idea.

Detective Howard lives another day in ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’
After Kanan gunned him down at the park, Detective Malcolm Howard blacked out. A manhunt commenced, blocking all the streets near Baisley Pond Park in Queens. For most of the episode, it was touch and go. Howard underwent surgery, leaving his cop buddies wondering if he’d pull through.
A new precinct captain entered the picture who found out about Howard’s leukemia diagnosis. He seemingly wanted to keep that under wraps, and asked his partner for the scoop. While she didn’t know about that, she had her suspicions about who shot Howard.
By the end of the finale, he woke up, and everyone immediately pressed him about who shot him. The show ended before Howard responded, leaving fans to speculate on what he’ll say.
Some fans think Howard won’t name Raq or Kanan
Howard is a cop with his hands in the underworld, so it would not make sense to incriminate himself by name-dropping Unique or Raq, right? But he’s smart enough to know that Raq probably sent Kanan to clip him because she wants him out of the way. That could work in Howard’s favor.
Many fans think he won’t drop a dime on Kanan because he still needs a bone marrow donor. This would put him in a power position to blackmail Raq. He could threaten to report Kanan, Lou-Lou, Marvin, or her as the shooter if she doesn’t comply with his wishes. It’s payback time as far as some Twitter and Reddit fans are concerned.
Is he desperate enough to take it that far? Probably. He may even decide to kill Raq or one of her family members. Howard has time to plot his next move as fans wait for season 5, but he still may take another route.
Howard could just remain silent
Raq’s plan to frame Unique for the hit on Howard was clever, but will it hold up? She doesn’t even know that Howard survived. Unique seems to have a solid alibi if his crew or family vouches for him, however, the cops want to hear what Howard has to say. He has the option to lie and say he didn’t see the shooter.
That will either hurt or harm Unique, but it takes the eyes off Raq and her family’s operation. One thing is for sure, most fans don’t think he’ll rat her out.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 is currently filming, so fans will have to wait a few months to see which path Howard takes. But stay tuned for Power Book II: Ghost in November.
