Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 1 has officially wrapped. However, fans of the series still have some unanswered questions. The ’90s set prequel series chronicles the coming-of-age of 15-year-old, Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis). In the first season, fans watched as Kanan slowly found himself indoctrinated in his drug queenpin mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas’ (Patina Miller), business.

In season 2 he will likely be dealing with the repercussions of his actions. Fans are also hoping to see the series introduce some characters from the original Power including James “Ghost” St. Patrick. Fans know that Kanan acted as a mentor to Ghost, but were the men related?

Will Ghost appear in ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Season 2?

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is set to return with a second season in 2022. Thus far, the series has chronicled 15-year-old Kanan Stark’s journey from childhood into adulthood. Since the series debut, fans have been clamoring for appearances from Ghost, his best friend Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), and the illusive Breeze.

“Those characters could possibly pop up in Raising Kanan,” 50 Cent told Express. “We’re already on a journey, it explains the monster you saw in me playing Kanan. The trauma, everything he’s gone through.”

Ghost is not related to Kanan. However, Kanan was a mentor to both Ghost and Tommy. It was Kanan along with his business partner Breeze who taught the men everything they knew about the drug business. Breeze was also the person to give Ghost his nickname because he was able to move around the streets of Queens undetected by the cops or rival dealers.

However, when Ghost and Tommy decided they wanted more for themselves, Breeze refused to help them level up. As a result, Ghost shot Breeze in the back of the head. He also arranged it so that Kanan was caught up and sent to jail for many years. This enabled Ghost and Tommy to step up, becoming two of the biggest drug dealer in New York.

Ghost also made it his mission to take Kanan’s son Shawn under his wing like a son of his own.

Did Kanan kill Ghost’s father?

Since Kanan and Ghost weren’t related, some fans are convinced that he was the one who killed Ghost’s father. In the ’80s and ’90s, Ghost’s father, Curtis St. Patrick, owned a nightclub. It was one of the reasons Ghost was so motivated to open his club Truth and go legit. In Power, we learned that when Ghost was a teen, his father was killed after refusing to pay some local drug dealers off.

Some fans are convinced that the drug dealers that killed Curtis were Kanan and Breeze. “People are eager to see youth Ghost and Tommy and how they came across Kanan and Breeze but we don’t talk about seeing how Curtis got involved with the drug dealers which leads to his death,” Redditor explained via Express.

In Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Ghost has not yet appeared. However, things could come full circle in later seasons of the show.
