So far, the body count on Power Book III: Raising Kanan is not as high as the original Power. However, it feels like everything is just warming up. Buck Twenty, D-Wiz, Toni’s dog, and the rapist housing inspector met their demise, and as usual, no one is safe. But did someone in Raq’s inner circle just meet their death? It seems that way, but don’t write him off just yet.

Is Scrappy dead?

Fast forward to the end of episode 6, and Raq received a rude awakening in the middle of the night. A gunshot, verbal warning, and the sound of screeching tires had her scrambling to her front door with the gun. Poor Scrappy.

His body was stripped down, bloody, and battered in the final scene as if he was left for dead. One eye was wounded — possibly missing — and he had skin scrapes all over his legs. Worrell and the rest of Unique’s crew really did a number on him, but is Scrappy really dead dead?

Don’t count him out just yet, because it looked like he was still breathing in those last few seconds. No one saw Worrell shoot him, so it is highly likely they tortured Scrappy to the brink of death to send a message to Raq. Sometimes, that’s how the game goes.

Raq sent Scrappy to infiltrate Unique’s camp

Some fans are confused about whether Scrappy really defected to Unique’s side or if he still worked for Raq. There was a conversation between him and Raq in episode 5 after he bailed out of jail. More than likely, they schemed to turn Scrappy into a plant.

Worrell peeped his fight with Kanan and assumed there was trouble in the ranks. And within a day, Scrappy showed up on Unique’s doorstep ready to switch loyalties. The timing was suspect.

Because viewers don’t know what Raq and Scrappy spoke about in the car, Unique assumed that she tagged him to be a mole. Too bad her plan backfired. Warning Lou-Lou about the hit made the covert operation implode.

What’s worse is that Kanan tried to make Scrappy the fall guy for the stash house robbery because he’s too jaded to believe that Davina gave up the information. He really believes Scrappy is some type of traitor. As everyone knows, Raq, Marvin, and Lou-Lou look at Scrappy as one of their most loyal soldiers. It’s unlikely that one little scrap with Kanan affected much. Or did it?

Scrappy is due to be in at least one more episode

Read the clues online and they say that Scrappy is still part of season 1’s story. It’s not a given that the character will survive and make it to season 2, but it’s likely viewers will either see him in the war with Unique or at his own funeral in the next episode or two. Scrappy may have some fight left in him.
