‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’: Did [Spoiler] Die?
A lot of bodies have dropped in the first season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, but the shooting in the Sept. 19 episode left viewers in a complete shock. It has yet to be revealed if they’ll actually survive, but the teaser trailer for the next episode of the TV show shows them fighting for their life.

Is Detective Howard dead?
By the ninth episode, Detective Howard had started putting more pressure on Raquel Thomas to introduce him to their son. He wanted to begin building a relationship with Kanan Stark with the hope that Kanan would be his bone marrow donor. But Raq had another idea. She went to Kanan and told him she needed him to take care of a problem for her.
Fast forward some, and Kanan was headed to handle that business, wearing Unique’s jacket that Lou-Lou stole in the last episode. He was surprised to run into Detective Howard but followed on his mom’s orders before Detective Howard could get the truth out. Kanan shot him again at point-blank range, staging it to make it appear that Unique shot him. But did Detective Howard die?
The next episode of ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ will reveal his fate
The episode cut before revealing what happened to Detective Howard, but the next one will determine his fate. The teaser trailer shows Detective Howard being raced into surgery as police spring into action to find the shooter. “I had to do it. They was coming after me and my family,” Kanan tells someone in the clip. Raq scrambles to hide Kanan as Lou-Lou questions her actions.
A lot of viewers were surprised by this turn of events, but some knew Raq would try and take advantage of Detective Howard’s desperation to meet Kanan.
“When raq said ‘I need you to do it and only you can’ I just knew it was gonna be Howard. But it makes sense. Kanan wears unique jacket and shoot a cop to try to put the blame on nique,” said one comment under the trailer.
“Ah I see it now,” read another. “She got Lou to steal Unique’s jacket, Juke to feed the cop information, Kanan to kill Omar Epps because he’s the only one to get close to him and he’d have his guard down also while wearing the jacket so the cops blood is on it and/or if there is a witness they’ll say they saw the jacket killing two birds with one stone. I’ll imagine they’ll be arresting Unique next episode with Raq’s help.”
Others don’t think he’ll die
There were also some who figured Detective Howard would survive the attempt on his life.
“Detective Howard ain’t dead he’s gonna use Kanan for the bone marrow and blame unique for him being shot,” one fan said.
“Kanan hesitates so he didn’t kill Howard cause he feel like Raq not telling him the truth about something,” commented another.
“He gonna tell that Nique pulled the trigger on him. He will protect Kanan no matter what. Just watch,” a third fan wrote.
