Power Book IV: Force is headed toward the conclusion of its first season and already, Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) has learned a great deal about Chicago. Determined to make a name for himself and birth his own drug operation, Tommy has faced more obstacles than he may have expected.

Now a new Force character portrayed by rapper Freddie Gibbs is bound to cause even more turmoil.

Tommy Egan has taken on Chicago in ‘Power Book IV: Force’

Just as Tommy has seemingly found his footing in Chicago, things appear to be going south fast. He’s teamed up with both Liliana (Audrey Esparza) and Claudia (Lili Simmons) to make and distributed the designer drug Dhalia. However, Tommy has never played by the rules and in the Windy City, and that’s going to cost him.

“The racism of Chicago, the dividedness of Chicago, is foreign to Tommy in a lot of ways, and so I think that is going to be a really interesting topic for us to tackle, the separation of Black and white and Latin people in terms of neighborhoods,” Sikora told Entertainment Weekly. “We have these real brilliant homegrown actors who are really showing the diversity and quality of the city of Chicago. I’m really proud of that.”

Tommy has found himself in the crosshairs between the Chicago Brothers Incorporated (CBI) and the Irish mob. Now, a new character is bound to cause even more turmoil.

Who does Freddie Gibbs portray in ‘Power Book IV: Force’?

When it comes to the Power Universe and BMF, executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has a history of putting major players in the music industry on TV. Mary J. Blige and Method Man star in Power Book II: Ghost, Kendrick Lamar appeared in Power, and thus far, Eminem and Snoop Dogg have made appearances on BMF.

Earlier in the season, Jeremih starred in Force, and now, Gary, Indiana-born rapper, Freddie Gibbs has appeared on the series as Cousin Buddy. Buddy is an unhinged drug kingpin from Gary. He steps into focus as Jenard (Kris D. Lofton) attempts to take a leap of faith and open up a pipeline from Chicago to Gary.

However, as we know, Jenard and Buddy are hotheads and with the new designer drug Dahlia in the mix, things are bound to get violent and chaotic very quickly.

What can fans expect to see from ‘Force’ Season 2

Now that Force has been renewed for season 2, we’re certain that Tommy is going to find himself in a very different position than he did when he first came to Chicago. Amid the death of Gloria (Gabrielle Ryan), it’s likely that he will find himself at odds with Vic (Shane Harper) and the Flynn Family.

Moreover, though he’s cool with Diamond (Issac Keyes), we know that Jenard hates Tommy and he’s probably going to conspire with Buddy and some other soldiers in order to try and take him down.

Sikora says there is also a lot more for Tommy to explore. “I’ll be up for a second and third season easily because I think there’s a lot more story to tell. I think Chicago as a city deserves it,” the actor told Digital Spy. “And I think the fans deserve it to get to a place where we can live with less words and more time in Tommy’s psyche.”
