‘Power Book IV: Force’: Joseph Sikora Addresses Character’s Fate After Season 1 Finale
The first season of Power Book IV: Force came to a startling conclusion with the April 17 episode “Family Business.” Liliana appeared to lose her life after a shootout with the Walter Flynn mob and the Chicago Brothers Incorporated (CBI), but some fans of the TV show are wondering whether she’s really gone.
There are theories that she secretly survived and will appear in Power Book IV: Force Season 2. However, Joseph Sikora (Tommy Egan) has confirmed that Liliana is, in fact, dead.
Liliana was shot and killed in the first season of ‘Power Book IV: Force’
In the episode, Liliana was trying to save Tommy from Jenard Sampson and the Flynns. She was sneaking up on them from behind when Claudia Flynn spotted her and shot her, striking Liliana in the chest. Tommy had tried to save her, but Liliana appeared to succumb to her injuries before help could arrive.
Some thought there was a chance she was still breathing when Tommy left her, but Sikora put that speculation to rest in a new Instagram message. When a fan wrote him asking about Liliana’s return, Sikora responded saying, “Nah. She’s dead dead.”
His comment came under an Instagram post he’d made featuring a photo of him and Power Book IV: Force showrunner Gary Lennon. Sikora noted in the caption that they were about to begin working on season 2 and promised to keep fans updated with “[behind-the-scenes] pics and videos along the way.”
“🤩🤩🤩🤩 SEASON 2!!!! Me and this actually New York Legend @gary_lennon are about to set Chicago on 🔥,” he wrote. “Ima keep you guys up with some bts pics and videos along the way. LETS GO!!!! 🚦🚦🚦🚦”
Liliana’s death to shape ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 2
When asked what fans could expect in the next season of Power Book IV: Force, Sikora told BlackFilmandTV.com there would be “revenge for Liliana.”
“I think that Tommy is going to seek revenge for Liliana, first and foremost,” he shared. “And then I think that he will strategize. I think that this is going to be a very complex season. Gary Lennon, who’s the showrunner is just such a consummate artist, and crafter of story. I can’t wait to see where he goes, because I have nothing but faith and trust in his ability.”
Lennon, for his part, has stayed mum on the details. But he wrote on Instagram that he would bring those “OG Power vibes” to the series next season.
The series is expected to return in 2023
Though the exact release date for Power Book IV: Force Season 2 is unknown, Sikora thinks the show will be back within a year.
“We’re gonna be filming for about six months and then we’re going to try to have a quick turnaround of the series,” he told BlackFilmandTV.com. “But because Gary [Lennon] is also an incredibly diligent worker and very capable editor I think that he will be working with the editors and hopefully that won’t be much more than a year before we have Season Two.”
In the meantime, fans can look forward to the return of Power Book III: Raising Kanan this summer.
