‘Power Book IV: Force’ Series Premiere Preview
It’s finally arrived. The highly anticipated Power Universe spinoff Power Book IV: Force is launching. The series will put the spotlight on Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora). Following the death of his best friend and business partner, James “Ghost,” St. Patrick’s (Omari Hardwick), Tommy will have to learn to navigate a new city and the drug game on his own.
Here’s what fans can expect in the Power Book IV: Force premiere.
When will ‘Power Book IV: Force’ premiere?
Force will debut on Feb. 6, 2022, on the Starz network. It premieres at 9:15 PM, just after the Ghost Season 2 finale. In this series, Tommy is moving on from New York, but Chicago might be more than he can handle.
“One step leads to another and Tommy quickly finds himself in Chicago’s drug game, inserting himself between the city’s two biggest crews,” the Starz press release explains via Deadline. “In a city divided by race, Tommy straddles the line, ultimately becoming the lynchpin that not only unites them – but holds the power to watch them crumble. Tommy uses his outsider status to his advantage, breaking all the local rules and rewriting them on his quest to become the biggest drug dealer in Chicago.”
Inside the ‘Power Book IV: Force’ series premiere
The Power Book IV: Force series premiere is titled “A Short Fuse and a Long Memory.” The official description (via Rotten Tomatoes) reads, “On his journey to LA, Tommy stops in Chicago, only to discover shocking news about his family; Tommy must decide whether to force his skeletons back into the closet or put down roots in the Windy City.”
We know that amid his stay in the Chi, Tommy encounters brothers Diamond (Isaac Keys) and Jenard Sampson (Kris D. Lofton).
Diamond was the young head of Chicago’s most promising crew taking over the city. However, he was caught up and spent 15 years in prison doing his time. Now that he’s out of prison, Diamond intends to take control back from his crew’s interim leader — his younger brother.
Jenard was accepted to Brown University just before his brother Diamond was locked up. Instead of pursuing his education, he took over the operation for his brother. But now, Diamond is ready to reclaim his throne.
‘Force’ could crossover with ‘Power Book II: Ghost’
The second season of Power Book II: Ghost comes to an explosive end just ahead of the Power Book IV: Force premiere. As we know, Tariq has been trying to navigate things on his own since his mother, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), was placed in witness protection, and he had a major falling out with Tommy.
However, if things don’t go well for him in the season finale of Ghost, then Tommy may be the only person he has left to turn to.
“I can’t tell you [if Tariq will seek out Tommy], but you know he’s definitely going to need uncle Tommy’s help at a point,” Sikora said via Express. Since Ghost and Force take place the same time period, this doesn’t seem too far-fetched, especially since Tommy appeared in the season 1 finale.
In the past, Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp explained that she’s not against crossovers, but she does want each show to stand alone.
