President Biden Attends Nephew’s Wedding to Meghan O’Toole King, Star of ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’
Meghan O’Toole King, formerly known as Meghan King Edmunds and a cast member on the popular Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Orange County, married President Biden’s nephew Cuffe Biden Owens in an intimate ceremony on Monday, Oct. 11.
Here are all the details we know so far.
Cuffe Biden Owens and Meghan O’Toole King had a whirlwind romance
If you’re surprised to hear that the former housewife is getting married, you’re not alone. King and Owens have had a whirlwind romance, and they only made their relationship Instagram-official a few weeks ago.
On Sept. 25, King introduced Owens to the world as “her man” on Instagram. She posted a loved-up photo of the two and captioned it, “Trying my best to avoid any cheesy introductions like ‘my main squeeze’… so just meet my man. ❤️”
How did Cuffe Biden Owens, an L.A.-based attorney, and Meghan O’Toole King, who lives in St. Louis, Missouri, meet?
“We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” King shared with Brides. “By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together. We didn’t leave each other’s side for weeks.”
The couple quickly figured out that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
“Our wedding was about two things for us,” said King. “Our love for and commitment to each other, and our family – each of our families, and the new very large and very tight family that we were bonding together by getting married. That’s it.”
President Biden attended his nephew’s wedding
Although Owens and King had a small, family wedding, there were some very important people on the guest list – including Owens’ uncle and aunt, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. Cuffe Biden Owens’ mother, Valerie Biden Owens, is President Biden’s sister.
POTUS and FLOTUS were in Delaware over the weekend and attended their nephew’s nuptials on their way back to the White House. The wedding took place at Owens’ parents’ home in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
Owens and King chose their wedding date for a very sentimental reason. “We toyed around with an L.A. wedding at an estate or venue or something, but the truth is it never felt right to either one of us,” King revealed.
“When we realized that Cuffe’s parents’ wedding anniversary, October 11, was a holiday Monday, we both knew exactly what we were going to do, where we were going to do it, and how we were going to do it. It’s a beautiful thing to see eye-to-eye with each other as we do.”
This isn’t the first public relationship Meghan O’Toole King has had
Cuffe Biden Owens has mostly stayed out of the public eye, despite his uncle being the leader of the United States. But Meghan O’Toole King is used to having the details of her personal life, particularly her relationships, publicized.
The podcaster, writer, and reality star was previously married to Jim Edmonds, broadcaster and former professional baseball player. King and Edmonds wed in 2014 and had three children together, daughter Aspen and twin sons Hayes and Hart. Edmonds filed for divorce in 2019.
Since then, King has had brief romances with Utah businessman Christian Schauf and real estate investor Will Roos before dating Cuffe Biden Owens.
“I want to spend my life with a partner,” King told Us Weekly after her divorce from Edmunds. “I’m a loyal, monogamous individual. I’ve been having a lot of fun dating, but I’m really hoping to settle down and find that partner.”
It seems like she found the right partner in President Biden’s nephew!
