Preview: ‘A Million Little Things’ Season 2 Episode 16 ‘Change of Plans’
A Million Little Things is approaching the back end of the season, and things are heating up quickly. Some members of the core group have recently been blown away by bombshells, and several new characters have been added to the mix to complicate things even further.
A few stories seem to be heading toward a resolution while others appear to be simmering on the back-burner. For those wondering what will happen next, the promo for A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 16 hints at what viewers can expect.
New characters, new drama
‘Change of Plans,’ the cryptic title of A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 16, seems to indicate that at least one character will find it necessary to alter their current course. Considering all the storylines that are up in the air on the show, it is unclear which character — or characters — will be rocked by change.
In the promo, Eddie prepares for a visit from his sister. Unfortunately, the siblings became estranged when Eddie shifted to a life of sobriety, and she did not. He appears to be optimistic that his sis has turned over a new leaf, but Gary is unconvinced.
In a previous episode, Katherine also expressed hesitance to open their lives to Eddie’s sister for fear that it would cause her husband to backslide. The presence of Eddie’s sister could change the dynamics of the Saville household, and the entire group.
The promo also teases a possible new love interest for Gary. In the promo, the bachelor appears to be babysitting Theo. One can only hope that he doesn’t fall asleep on the job like he did the last time he was left to supervise children.
One incentive to stay awake could be a flirtatious mom, who Katherine seemingly urged to ask out Gary. Four months post-breakup, Maggie has gotten back on the dating horse. It is probable that Gary will follow suit, despite the former couple’s lingering feelings.
It is a safe bet that Rome and Regina could also be affected by the ominous ‘Change of Plans’ the episode title indicates will occur. The sudden appearance of Eve’s ex, Derek, could throw a wrench in their plans to adopt her baby. What’s more, Derek’s history of violence could pose a threat to Eve and the baby.
Sex, drugs, rock ‘n roll
Eddie has had to make significant adjustments with his recent shift from performing music to producing music. Wrangling the new artist, Dakota, has been difficult, to say the least. As determined as the singer seems to be to damage her career through sheer bullheadedness, Eddie sees himself in her, and he doesn’t want her to blow her big break.
In the previous episode, Eddie got through to Dakota just as Trevor, the music exec, was ready to drop her. If she falls in line and manages to deliver a hit album under Eddie’s guidance, it could fast-track Eddie’s career. If the music label keeps them both around, Eddie will be able to maintain some stability while still pursuing his passion for music.
While Eddie polices Dakota, Delilah has another fiery youngster to handle. It remains to be seen what consequences Sophie will pay for hiding doobies in her sleeping bag.
Unfortunately, Delilah was derailed by the revelation that her daughter is taking birth control pills — presumably in preparation to sleep with Jake — and by said boyfriend’s onset of appendicitis. It wasn’t until the end of the episode that Delilah could address the ganja situation. Hopefully, the next episode will move the needle on the mother-daughter narrative.
A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 16 will, without a doubt, pick up a few threads that were left hanging in the last episode and simultaneously launch original storylines with fresh faces. The episode will air on Thursday March 5 at 10 p.m.
