The British royals aren’t strangers to odd rumors and wild reports about their family. But every now and then there comes a claim so outrageous that leaves people scratching their heads and wondering where such allegations even originated.

Here’s the answer to who is claiming that he is Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ secret child and why he believes that.

The claim that Prince Charles and Camilla have a secret child

This shocking claim comes from a man named Simon Dorante-Day, who was adopted when he was 18 months old. He says that his adoptive grandmother worked for the queen and told him that he was Prince Charles and Camilla’s son.

“I was very close to my grandmother and she told me many times that I was Camilla and Charles’ child,” Dorante-Day alleged. “She didn’t just hint at it, she told me outright.”

There is one major problem with his story, though. He was born in 1966, so his timeline for the prince and Camilla actually being his biological parents is off. Most reports state that the pair didn’t meet until the early 1970s. Still, Dorante-Day is convinced that he is their child and that one day a DNA test will prove his claim.

The claim that Charles and Diana had a daughter

This isn’t the first time a radical claim has been made about the Prince of Wales having other children.

In 2018, The Globe reported that he and his first wife, Diana, had a daughter. The tabloid claimed that before marrying Prince Charles in 1981, then-Lady Diana Spencer had fertility tests to ensure that she could have children as she would be giving birth to a future monarch. That part of the story is more than likely true as it was reported at the time that Diana was indeed examined by Queen Elizabeth II‘s trusted surgeon-gynecologist, Dr. George Pinker.

However, the story then claims that following Diana’s fertility testing, another doctor allegedly kept one of her eggs and implanted it in his wife. His wife had a baby girl, Sarah, in October 1981. Prince William wasn’t born until June 1982, which means if this story were true, Sarah would be second in line to the throne behind Prince Charles.

Charles and Camilla’s children from previous relationships

While those stories sound like total fiction and something out of a movie to many, they did gain some interest as people had questions after they made the rounds on the internet. So as crazy as the claims may seem to most of us, there are those who think they could very well be two dark secrets the royals are hiding.

What we do know for sure is that Camilla has two children, Tom and Laura, with her ex-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles. And Charles, of course, has two sons, Princes William and Harry, with the late Princess Diana.
