The royal family grew on July 22, 2013, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed George. Following a tradition started by her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, Catherine gave birth to George at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital.

The new parents also stood on the steps of the hospital, just a Prince Charles and Diana did, and introduced their son to the world. Today, George is big brother to Princess Charlotte of Cambridge and Prince Louis of Cambridge.

Queen Elizabeth II poses for photos with her 3 heirs

To kick off 2020, Buckingham Palace released an official portrait of the queen with her three heirs; her oldest son Charles, her grandson William, and great-grandson George. As the oldest son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, George is third in the royal family’s line of succession behind his Charles and William.

The palace reported at the time, per USA Today, the adorable photo is one of two “official” portraits of the foursome. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted the sweet photo to Instagram for their nearly 12 million followers to see.

Before getting together for an official portrait to mark the start of a new decade in 2020, the group did something similar in 2016. In honor of the queen’s 90th birthday, the monarch posed for an official portrait with Charles, William, and George.

But that’s not all. If the photo wasn’t enough, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge upped the cuteness factor when they shared a video of the queen, Charles, William, and George making Christmas puddings at Buckingham Palace.

Presumed to take place on the same day as the official portrait judging by the outfits, they made the festive dessert to mark the launch of a project for charity. With a Christmas tree in the background, George mixed the ingredients together.

Prince George and Queen Elizabeth II have sweet moments at royal events

One day George will be the leader of the royal family but for now, he’s a child who doesn’t know he’s going to be king. He’s enjoying being a kid but he does show up to big events on the royal family’s calendar.

In 2015, William held George in his arms as royals gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Trooping the Colour, the queen’s annual birthday parade.

So cute!

And at Charlotte’s christening in July 2015, George chatted with the queen. He and the rest of the royal great-grandchildren reportedly call her “Gan Gan” in private.
