Royal family fans are still unpacking everything that was and wasn’t said during Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah. For the most part, their conversation confirmed what people already knew. Harry and Meghan were miserable as working royals and felt they had no choice but to leave.
Fans found out some surprising information about what was going on behind palace doors. One interesting detail that came out of the conversation was finally hearing if Prince Harry was really feuding with his brother, Prince William. The Duke of Sussex managed to sum up their current relationship using a single word.
Prince William and Prince Harry have an unbreakable bond
The entire world mourned the death of Princess Diana, the People’s Princess and one of the most popular royal family members of all time. But no one experienced the loss of Diana quite like her two young sons, William and Harry.
The boys were close before their mother’s death. But going through that shared trauma together in a way no one else understood made these two almost inseparable. Their lives were on different paths from day one. However, William and Harry forged a new bond in the wake of Diana’s death.

Adulthood can bring changes and that’s what happened with Harry and William. While the two stayed close even after the Duke of Cambridge wed Catherine, there was an unmistakable change after Harry and Meghan began their romance.
Rumor has it Prince Harry didn’t react well to his older brother cautioning him not to rush into a relationship. He had a similar reaction to advice from close friends. In Harry’s mind, he was in love and looking for support, not criticism or words of warning.
Prince Harry told Oprah that things are weird with Prince William now
While William isn’t the royal who comes off looking worst after the Oprah interview, it’s clear that things are not great between him and Harry. The legendary talk show host addressed the question of a brotherly feud directly. Harry didn’t dodge the answer. Instead, he provided a succinct description for their relationship.
“As I’ve said before, I love William to bits,” Harry explained. “He’s my brother. We’ve been to hell together. But we’re on different paths.”
The Duke of Sussex summed up his current feelings toward William.
“The relationship is ‘space’ at the moment,” Harry concluded. “And time heals all things, hopefully.”
Prince William responded to Harry and Meghan’s accusations
While the Duke of Cambridge didn’t specifically discuss his personal relationship with Prince Harry, he did refute some of the claims Harry and Meghan made during the explosive Oprah interview.
One of their biggest accusations had to do with racist actions that senior royals were allegedly involved with while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were still working there. William replied to a reporter’s query about the allegations, saying, “We are very much not a racist family. I haven’t spoken to [Harry] yet, but I will.”
There’s a chance Harry and William could become close again. But it’s going to take some serious work.
