Prince Harry: 13 Forgotten Photos of Him and Princess Diana
Being the most photographed person in the world, a great many pictures were taken of Princess Diana. From her early days in the British royal family to the moments leading up to the tragic car accident that took her life and those of 2 others in August 1997, there are thousands, if not millions, of photos featuring Diana. Among them, of course, are snapshots of Diana with her beloved sons, Prince William of Cambridge and Prince Harry of Sussex. Ahead, check out some forgotten photos of Diana and Harry.
Prince Harry and Princess Diana had lots of fun together
Harry and William lost their mother far too soon. They were still young boys when their mom passed away and since then they’ve continued Diana’s legacy and kept her memory alive. During interviews in the years after her death, both William and Harry have reminisced on their late mother. They’ve highlighted her wicked sense of humor and used the word “kid” to describe her because she always made them laugh.
It’s clear from photos of Harry and Diana that no matter what they were doing they always had fun. Wherever their travels took them, they always had a good time.
Enjoying some time in the South of France in 1996, Diana and Harry took a jet ski out for a spin on the water.
The following year, also in France, taken about a month before Diana died, photographers snapped a picture of Harry on a jet ski yet again. This time instead of riding on the jet ski with her youngest son, Diana stood on a dock while she and Harry exchanged a few words.
In another photo taken leading up to Diana’s death, she stood on a yacht in Saint- Tropez, France, while photographers captured her giving Harry a hug.
On an earlier family trip to a tropical location around 1993, Harry played in the water alongside Diana.
Their vacations didn’t just take them to warm climates. They also went skiing in Austria. Here are Diana and Harry carrying their skiing gear as they trudge through the snow.
And they attended many polo matches together. Here they are at one in Windsor, England.
A not-so-fun moment during time abroad in Spain happened when Diana helped Harry with his shoes during a photo-call.
Not exactly fun young Harry didn’t seem to mind.
They held hands a lot
Attending a birthday celebration for the Queen Mother, Diana held Harry’s hand with her right and placed her left hand on his shoulder.
There were plenty of other times where Diana made sure Harry stuck with her. Attending a play of William’s, young Harry held Diana’s hand as they exited the theater.
Walking to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle to attend a royal wedding, Diana held Harry’s as they headed to the ceremony. St. George’s Chapel later became the venue for Harry’s 2018 wedding to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Getting off a plane in Scotland in 1986, Diana held Harry’s hand while William walked behind her.
Not holding hands but Diana gently guided young Harry by the shoulder as he carried a plate of strawberries.
So sweet!
Clearly, Harry and Diana shared a close bond and despite the Duke of Sussex losing his mother he has many cherished memories of the time they had together.
