Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Signal Who Will Replace William and Kate as the New ‘Fab Four’
Once upon a time Prince Harry, Prince William, and their wives Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge were referred to as the “Fab Four” or the “Core Four.” But that changed following reports of a rift between the brothers and the Sussexes’ decision to step away from royal life.
The last time the couples saw each other was on March 9 for the annual Commonwealth Day service. and their encounter was awkward. Meghan and Harry only shared brief pleasantries with William while Kate did not interact with the Sussexes at all. Prince Harry and his wife have since moved to Santa Barbara and now another royal couple has been dubbed the new “Fab Four” following what occurred in the middle of the night across the pond.
Senior royals were ‘blindsided’ after this couple moved into Frogmore Cottage
In a move that apparently no one saw coming Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, moved into the Sussexes U.K. home over the weekend.
The Sun broke the news that the duke and duchess’s belongings were moved out of Frogmore Cottage in “the dead of night.”
An insider told the publication: “Senior royals were initially blindsided by the idea for Harry and Meg to let Eugenie and Jack move in. Obviously, the queen was told after the couples had spoken about the plan. But it is very much a deal done between Harry, Meghan, Eugenie, and Jack.”
A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace later responded to the move by saying, “Frogmore Cottage is the private residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and as such any arrangements are a matter for them.”
The Sussexes have a close relationship with Princess Eugenie and Jack
The Sun’s source added that “there is a close bond between Harry, Meghan, Eugenie, and Jack.”
Multiple media outlets reported that the prince and former actress see the princess and her hubby as a replacement for Will and Kate and that some palace aides have already dubbed the Brooksbanks and Sussexes as the new “Fab Four.”
‘Lovely’ place for Eugenie and her husband to raise their child
Frogmore Cottage is the home that was given to the duke and duchess by the queen and thought to be used as their base when they returned to the U.K. It’s believed that will still be the case and they are sharing the home with Eugenie and Jack.
The Sussexes had the cottage renovated and as Express noted, once called the five-bedroom property a “lovely” place to raise a child which is good news for Jack and Eugenie who are expecting their first child together.
The princess and Jack’s previous residence was at Kensington Palace. Their new address is closer to the princess’s parents as Frogmore is just four miles away from Royal Lodge where Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York live.
